at lower temperatures, protect the flash unit against cold, for
instance by carrying it under your coat.

Never throw batteries into open fire or attempt to recharge
batteries other than those made for this purpose (NiMH) due
to danger of explosion!

Protect your environment by proper waste disposal of
batteries after use.
Loading of the Batteries
Open the battery compartment cover by
sliding it in direction of the arrow. The flash
must be switched Off. Insert four AA
batteries (Mignon type) or rechargeable
NiMH of the same performance making sure
to respect the correct plus/minus order as
shown inside the compartment. Close the
battery cover. Switch the flash on (ON/OFF switch). If batteries
have been properly inserted, the "Ready" light will glow after a
few seconds. Now the first test flash can be made. Simply press
the flash test button.
Auto Power OFF
In order to save energy the DÖRR DAF-34 is equipped with an
auto power off function. It is activated after 3 minutes of non use.
If you wish to use the flash again, move the ON/OFF switch first
to OFF position and then to ON. The flash is now ready for use.
Mounting and Removing the Flash from Camera
Before mounting the flash unit onto your camera, be
certain that the power switch is turned OFF and the locking
ring turned upwards. The camera´s built-in flash must be
closed. Now you can slide
the flash unit onto the camera´s flash shoe.
Canon, Nikon, Pentax, Samsung: In order to guarantee a
tight fitting and good contact between flash and camera,
reverse the steps.
Olympus and Panasonic: In order to guarantee a tight
fitting and good contact between flash and camera, push
the LOCK button. When removing the flash from the
camera, press the release button in the direction of the
two arrows.
