d) Store idle power tools out of the reach of children
and do not allow persons unfamiliar with the power
tool or these instructions to operate the power tool.
Power tools are dangerous in the hands of untrained
users.
e) Maintain power tools. Check for misalignment or
binding of moving parts, breakage of parts and any
other condition that may affect the power tool's
operation. If damaged, have the power tool repaired
before use. Many accidents are caused by poorly
maintained power tools.
f) Keep cutting tools sharp and clean.
Properly maintained cutting tools with sharp cutting
edges are less likely to bind and are easier to control.
g) Use the power tool, accessories and tool bits etc.,
in accordance with these instructions, taking into
account the working conditions and the work to be
performed. Use of the power tool for operations
different from those intended could result in a
hazardous situation.
5) BATTERY TOOL USE AND CARE
a) Recharge only with the charger specified by the
manufacturer. A charger that is suitable for one type of
battery pack may create a risk of fi re when used with
another battery pack.
b) Use power tools only with specifically designated
battery packs. Use of any other battery packs may
create a risk of injury and fi re.
c) When battery pack is not in use, keep it away from
other metal objects like paper clips, coins, keys,
nails, screws, or other small metal objects that can
make a connection from one terminal to another.
Shorting the battery terminals together may cause
burns or a fi re.
d) Under abusive conditions, liquid may be ejected
from the battery; avoid contact. If contact
accidentally occurs, flush with water. If liquid
contacts eyes, additionally seek medical help. Liquid
ejected from the battery may cause irritation or burns.
6) SERVICE
a) Have your power tool serviced by a qualified repair
person using only identical replacement parts.
This will ensure that the safety of the power tool is
maintained.
SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS FOR CORDLESS WRENCHES
• Always check that the supply voltage is the same as the
voltage indicated on the nameplate of the charger
(chargers with a rating of 230V or 240V can also be
connected to a 220V supply)
• Only use accessories designed for electrical
wrenches (ratchet wrench sockets designed for hand
use may break under the load this tool generates)
• Use the correct size accessories
• Do not use damaged or worn accessories
• Keep the inside of the accessories clean
• Ensure that accessories are securely mounted before
switching on the tool
• Always wear eye protection when using this tool
• Use thick-cushioned gloves and take frequent rest
periods
• Secure the material being fastened (never hold it in
your hand or across your legs)
• Avoid being caught between the tool and walls or
posts (a possible reaction torque of the tool could crush
your hand or leg)
• Do not run the tool while carrying it at your side (the
rotating drive could become entangled with clothing
which may cause injury)
• Check the housing screws occasionally and tighten
them, if loose
• In case of electrical or mechanical malfunction,
immediately switch off the tool or unplug charger from
power source
• SKIL can assure fl awless functioning of the tool only
when the correct accessories are used which can be
obtained from your SKIL dealer
• Use only accessories with an allowable speed matching
at least the highest no-load speed of the tool
• This tool should not be used by people under the age of
16 years
CHARGING/BATTERIES
• Charge battery only with the charger that is supplied
with the tool
• Do not touch the contacts in the charger
• Do not expose tool/charger to rain
• Do not charge battery in damp or wet environments
• The charger is not intended for use by persons
(including children) with reduced physical, sensory or
mental capabilities, or lack of experience and
knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or
instruction concerning use of the charger by a person
responsible for their safety
• Ensure that children do not play with the charger
• Store tool/charger in locations where temperature will
not exceed 40°C or drop below 0°C
• Do not use charger when damaged; take it to one of the
offi cially registered SKIL Service Stations for a safety
check
• Do not use charger when cord or plug is damaged; cord
or plug should be replaced immediately at one of the
offi cially registered SKIL Service Stations
• Do not disassemble charger or tool
• Explanation of symbols on charger

6 Do not dispose of the charger together with
household waste material
WHEN CONNECTING NEW 3-PIN PLUG (U.K. ONLY):
• If for any reason the old plug is cut off the cord of the
charger, it must be disposed of safely and not left
unattended
• Do not connect the blue (= neutral) or brown (= live) wire
in the cord of the charger to the earth terminal of the
plug
