User's guide for the FMT120
(A) What is What?
(A:) AUX sound output. Connect an RCA cord for sound recording.
(A:) On/Off switch and volume adjustment for the driver.
(A:3) LED. Battery indicator.
(A:4) Volume adjustment for co-driver.
(A:5) Jack for Push to Talk (PTT) button.
(A:6) EXT connector for communication radio or mobile phone.
(A:7) Battery cover.
(A:8) Headset jack for driver (blue). Headset jack for co-driver (black).
(A:9) Rubber shield
(A:0) Switch for driver microphone level.
(A:) Switch for microphone type – dynamic/electret.
(B) Functions
(B:) Start-up
Install a 9 V battery or use the FC6 battery eliminator. Connect the helmets to the
intercom. Turn (A:) clockwise to switch on the intercom, then adjust the volume
with (A:4) and (A:).
(B:) Select microphone type
The factory setting is for a dynamic microphone (DYN). When using the Peltor
electret microphone (MT54N-3) you must toggle a switch on the circuit board.
Remove the battery cover (A:7). Remove the battery (if any). Carefully lift the rub-
ber shield (A:9). Set switch (A:) to ELE.
(B:3) Noise-cancelling the driver's microphone
The factory setting is 0 dB. However, the driver's microphone can be attenuated
by 0 dB. Remove the battery cover (A:7). Remove the battery (if any). Carefully
lift the rubber shield (A:9). Toggle switch (A:0) to the left, where it says –0 dB.
(B:4) LED indicator
The LED (A:3) normally glows green when the unit is switched on. When about 
hour of battery power is left, the green light switches to red, indicating that it is time
to replace the battery. Note that the volume level and speech clarity are affected
by low battery power.
(C) External Connections
(C:) Connecting a communication radio and Push to Talk (PTT) button.
To connect a communication radio, you need a Flex cord, FL6U-**; see (E:). Flex
cords come with various connectors to suit different radios.
Contact your Peltor dealer for more information. You also need a PTT button to
operate the communication radio; see (E:3).
