5. Commissioning the device
1. Insert the mains plug into a socket that is earthed in accordance with regulations. (Note: The power supply cable
attached to the device is 4 m long.)The green power supply control lamp goes on.
2. Operate the key switch in order to start the motor. The green operating lamp goes on. The monitoring electronics
are activated at the same time.
6. Function control
The green power control diode must light up if everything has been correctly installed. The red monitoring control
diode only lights up if the extraction volume is not correctly adjusted (e.g. because the extraction flap is closed or
one or several cabinets are not exhibiting the necessary ventilation parameters). An acoustic signal is given at the
same time. Acknowledge the signal and eliminate the cause .
7. Correcting faults if the extraction monitoring gives an alarm
We can only take over a guarantee for perfect functioning of the device if it was correctly installed by a specialist firm
authorised by us for the purpose.
Extraction monitoring works with a battery buffer, i.e. it will also give the alarm if the power supply is cut off. The alarm
is given both visually and acoustically if the pre-set extraction parameters are changed by more than 10 %. After the
alarm has sounded you can silence it initially by acknowledging the alarm (push reset). Then proceed as follows to
locate the fault:
1. Check if the green LED (mains supply) is illuminated. If so, continue with 2.If not, check if the device is plugged in-
to the mains socket, and if the socket is live.
2. Using a smoke bomb or other type of tracing vapour, check if air is being transported from each cabinet to the
extraction nozzle of the device. The extraction hose provided on site has to be removed for this purpose. Fill the
interior of each cabinet with vapour and look to see if the vapour becomes visible at the end of the device. If so,
continue with 3.If not, the air passage is blocked. Please consult your ventilation service provider.
3. Have the volume of air which is extracted measured by the ventilation service provider. If the volume is correct,
the pressure monitoring instrument (manometer) of the device should be adjusted. If the measured value does
not correspond to the specifications, the air hose should be checked for foreign bodies and leaks. Remove all foreign
bodies and seal all leaks which self-adhesive woven tape and close any remaining holes or joints with an elastic
sealant. Start again with 1.If the fault is still present when you reach 3, please inform a specialist ventilation engineer
or company.
