DO NOT disturb the tool harnesses while programming. If
an interruption occurs, programming failure or control
module damage may occur.
o
DO NOT turn OFF the ignition if programming is inter-
rupted or unsuccessful. Ensure that all connections are
secure and the SPS software is up to date. Attempt to
reprogram the control module. If the control module
cannot be programmed, replace the control module.
Important: After programming, perform the following to avoid
future misdiagnosis:
a. Turn the ignition OFF for 1 minute.
b. Turn the ignition ON with the engine OFF.
c. Setup the BMC using the scan tool.
1. Navigate to the following on the scan tool:
Computer/Intergrating Systems
Module Setup
Body Control Module
2. Recalibrate the brake pedal position (BPP) sensor
by selecting "BPP Sensor Calibration" and
3. Relearn the restraints ID by selecting "Setup SDM
Primary Key in BCM"
d. Using a scan tool, retrieve any history Diagnostic
Trouble Codes (DTCs) from all of the modules.
e. Clear all history DTCs.
f.
Drive the vehicle above 25 mph for at least 2 minutes.
This is to update the tire pressure display on the driver
information center, if equipped.
4. Program the new transmitters to the remote control door
lock receiver using the scan tool.
Important: Up to 4 transmitters can be programmed. If the non-
remote start transmitters are to be recognized, they must also
be programmed. Do not operate or program the transmitters in
the vicinity of other vehicles that are in the keyless entry pro-
gram mode. This prevents the programming of the transmitters
to the incorrect vehicle.
a.
Navigate to the following on the scan tool:
Keyless Entry
Module Setup
Remote Control Door Lock Receiver
Program Key Fobs
b.
Follow the on screen instructions.
Important: Program the new transmitters into key fob slots 1
and 2. This will enable diagnostics on the transmitters. Any
other transmitters should be programmed into slots 3 and 4.

c. Remove the scan tool.
d. Operate the transmitter functions in order to verify
correct system operation.
5. Apply label to the bottom of the existing Service Parts ID
Label. This label is for future service parts identification.

The surface temperature should not be less than 65°F
(21°C).
a. Clean the surface with a suitable solvent (50% isopropyl
alcohol, FS-1062 hi-flash naphtha or equivalent).
b. Dry the surface with a clean cloth.
c. Peel the liner from the backside of the label, being
careful not to touch the adhesive or allow dirt or any
foreign material to come in contact with it.
d. Carefully align the label to the surface, press firmly, and
smooth out.
6. Add transmitters to the customer's key rings.
