E-2 Pre-filter Insert
The pre-filter is equipped with a replaceable filter insert mat.
Changing this filter mat at regular intervals greatly increases the operation life
of the subsequent main filter.
Therefore it should be changed at regular intervals (for example, weekly).
To change the mat, follow these steps:
• Pull out the wire fasteners (see illustration 3)
• Take out the old filter mat and replace it with the new one.
• Secure the new filter mat with the wire fasteners.

E-3 Replacing Carbon Brushes
As with all commutator motors, the carbon brushes of the exhaust blowers have a limited life
expectancy. The standard life of the carbon brushes is about 500 operating hours. When the
carbon brushes are worn out, the blower shuts off automatically. If this occur you must change
the carbon brushes at this point. To assure smooth, uninterupted operation of the unit, we
recommend changing the carbon brushes at regular time intervals.
Carbon brush changing procedures:
• Unplug unit from power supply
• Place filter unit on is side so that the feet are free. To avoid scratching of the housing,
place soft padding underneath.
• Loosen screws on the outside of the bottom plate and take off bottom plate
• Pull off the black plastic cover of the turbine
• Unscrew the contact brush holders and loosen the cable connections
• Insert new contact brushes
• Reassemble the unit, following previous instructions in reverse sequence
