Install the amplifier in such a way that it is protected as far as possible against vibrations and
•
dust and dirt.
Ensure the amplifier is well secured. Screw the amplifier onto a solid mounting surface to
•
prevent the risk of an accident.
Make sure the screws do not harm any wiring in the vehicle.
•
Makes sure none of the cables are bent, jammed or broken. If there are sharp edges in the
•
vehicle, the cables and edges need to be padded or cushioned to prevent the cable from
breaking.
Always use a 15 amp micro fuse as a replacement for the fuse integrated in the adapter cable.
•
To connect the MICRO FIT 4.0 amplifier, use the adapter cable with the ISO connectors/jacks
•
provided. The amplifier is connected between the car radio and the vehicle electronics. Using
other cables can lead to the amplifier being damaged.
Make sure that the fuse and operating elements (volume control) are accessible after
•
installation.
The appliance's reliability and performance depend on the quality of installation. Preferably
•
get an expert to install the system.
4. SPEAKERS
The lowest terminal resistance is 4 ohm per channel. The original built-in car speakers
•
normally have an impedance of 4 ohms.
If the amplifier is operated with lower terminal resistances or incorrectly used as described
•
above, both the amplifier and the loudspeakers may be damaged. The warranty becomes
void in such cases.
5. INSTALLATION
Important notices:
Before commencing the installation, disconnect the minus terminals from the car
•
battery in order to prevent short circuits.
Use only the ISO adapter cable supplied to fit the amplifier.
•
The MICRO FIT 4.0 is installed between the original car radio and the vehicle's original wiring
harness. Installation is made easy by the adapter cable provided (plug and play installation).
The power supply for the amplifier is tapped directly from the vehicle's original cable harness
via the adapter cable. The positive lead of the original wring harness is normally protected by a
maximum 20 amp fuse.
The pin configuration for the continuous positive/ignition voltage differs depending on the type
of vehicle.
Before installing the MICRO FIT 4.0, check which connection (PIN) of the original cable harness
conducts the continuous positive supply and ignition voltage. Depending on the type of vehicle,
the continuous positive is connected to PIN 4 or PIN 7 of the integrated ISO plug, see Fig. 1 with
the rear view of the ISO plug of the original wiring harness connected to the original car radio
ex works. Please bear in mind that there are also other pin configuration variations. The pin
configuration of the original cable network must definitely be checked and observed in order to
avoid damage.
