Installation
1) Remove the original car radio.
2) Remove the ISO connectors to the speakers and the power supply for the car radio.
3) Plug these ISO connectors into the double ISO socket (see Fig. 2, (2)) on the adapter cable.
4) Connect the +12v continuous positive supply of your vehicle to the yellow cable going to the
amplifier. To do this, connect - depending on the assignment of the vehicle's ISO socket - the
short blue or yellow cable (see Fig. 2, C or D) to the yellow cable leading to the amplifier.
The cables are fitted with circular connectors for easy installation.
Make sure the circular connectors are insulated after plugging together. The insulating sleeves
of the circular connectors must cover the metal parts.
The end of the cable that is left open and not used must be insulated.
5) Connect the 2 individual ISO couplings A and B of the adapter cable to the original car radio.
6) Plug the 20-pole connector of the adapter cable into the input/output jack on the amplifier
until the nose of the plug engages and is firmly seated in the socket.
7) Then reconnect the negative terminal on the battery.
6. SETTING THE INPUT SENSITIVITY
The input sensitivity may be adapted to any car radio or tape deck. Turn the volume control of
your radio to its central position and then adjust the input-level controls (fig. 3, (5)/(6)) to produce
an average medium volume. This setting usually provides sufficient power reserves at optimum
weighted noise voltage.
ATTENTION: only reproduce loud test noises briefly to prevent damaging the loudspeakers.
The MICRO FIT 4.0 has a much higher power output than the amplifier in the original car
radio. Make sure the playback is not set too loud so as to prevent overload or damage to the
loudspeakers fitted ex works.
7. OUTPUTS FOR CONNECTING ADDITIONAL AMPLIFIERS
The amplifier has a stereo low-level output (Fig.3 (4)) and a remote output (Fig. 3 (1)) for connecting
an additional 2-channel or subwoofer amplifier. The input signals from the input channels 1/3
and 2/4 of the amplifier are aggregated and passed to the output terminals (Fig.3 (4)) OUTPUT L
and R respectively. The remote output of the MICRO FIT 4.0 is connected to the remote input of
the additional amplifier.
When installing the audio cable between the cinch output of the MICRO FIT 4.0 and the cinch input
of the subwoofer amplifier inside your car, the audio and power supply cables should, wherever
possible, not be routed along the same side of the vehicle. We recommend an isolated installation,
e.g. routing the power cable through the cable duct on the left-hand side and the audio cable
through the cable duct on the right-hand side or vice versa. This reduces interference due to
crosstalk into the audio cables.
