All connections to the terminal box inside the housing are made as indicated in the diagram below.
When the terminal box cover is removed, the installer can have access to the wiring connections. As
indicated on the actuator label "KEEP COVER TIGHT WHILE CIRCUITS ARE LIVE"
To properly secure the enclosure, conduit entries must be sealed according to ATEX & CSA
requirements. All 14 of the terminal box cover bolts must also be secured and properly tightened to a
value of 17 lb-ft (23 N-m) torque.
Actuator Electrical Connections to Terminal Blocks – "S" Option
Actuator (Motor) Power
Power is provided to the R, S, and T actuator phases using the indicated terminal blocks. The PE
terminal block provides an internal connection to the actuator case for grounding. The terminal blocks
are capable of accepting 20 AWG to 12 AWG conductors. Conductor sizes and cable length must be
designed for the specific application.
Actuator (Motor) Feedback
Actuator position feedback and temperature information are provided using the indicted terminal blocks.
The terminal blocks are capable of accepting 20 AWG to 12 AWG conductors.
