8 Description of the product and accessories
8.1 Description (Fig. 1)
Industrially prefabricated cold water insulation shell for pumps made of flexible,
elastomer insulation material.
Made from level plates that have been bonded without tension. Box structure con-
nected by hinges (1) for simpler installation. Bonding level (2) for installation on the
pump. Accurately fitting connection surface (3) for bonding to the motor flange of
the pump housing. The box features level bonding surfaces (4) for further pipe insula-
tion.
Wilo-ClimaForm cold water insulation shells are suitable for diffusion-proof connec-
tion to Armacell GmbH pipe insulation provided by the customer.

Correctly bonding ClimaForm
As a rule, clean surfaces with Armaflex special cleaner prior to bonding.

Do not insulate systems while they are in operation. Only put insulated systems
into operation 36 hours after having bonded the components (adhesive curing
time).
Use special cleaner and fresh Armaflex adhesive.
Use clean Armaflex material, which is free of dust, dirt and oil and has no water on
the surface.
Protect steel counter flanges from corrosion.
Do not insulate systems in which the parts to be insulated are too close together.
Keep an adequate distance between insulated system parts to guarantee unob-
structed air circulation.
Observe the processing notes on the adhesive container.
Apply adhesive to ClimaForm first when bonding ClimaForm to other materials
(e.g. metal).
Allow adhesive to flash off! The minimum flash off time depends on ambient con-
ditions. The adhesive has reached its maximum adhesive force if, when you per-
form a touch test, your finger sticks and strings are no longer formed.
Carefully merge adhesive surfaces and apply moderate pressure.
At temperatures below 5 °C there may be an increased formation of condensation
on the surface for bonding or the adhesive layer. In this case, bonding is difficult or
impossible to achieve.
