12. Install the Oil Chamber Plug and tighten it between 20
and 25 in-lb (2.3 and 2.8 Nm) torque.
❑ For Models 70PS3 and 90PS4 apply the
following 2 steps (13 and 14)
13. Position a new Hammer Case Gasket (103) on the
Motor Housing (1) and install the assembled
mechanism on the rotor shaft.
14. Place the Hammer Case over the Drive Shaft against
the Housing and Gasket. Install the (4) four Hammer
Case Cap Screws and Lock Washers. Tighten each
Screw between 45 and 50 in-lb (5.1 and 5.6 Nm) torque.
❑ For Models 40PSQ1, 45PS3, 45PSQ1, 55PS3
and 55PSQ1 apply the following 3 steps
(15, 16 and 17)

18. For Models 40PSQ1, 45PSQ1 AND 55PSQ1, insert
Bit Retaining Ball into the hole in the Drive Shaft.
Place Bit Retaining Sleeve Spring and Spring Seat
onto the Drive Shaft. While compressing the Spring
Seat against the Spring, install the Retaining Ring onto
the Drive Shaft.
❑ Now continue for all (7) seven Models
19. Test the tool for torque at maximum, minimum and
mid-range torque settings. If the tool does not perform
satisfactorily, repeat the refill procedure and pay
particular attention to removing unwanted air from the
fluid system. Refer to the section TORQUE
ADJUSTMENT for specific adjustment procedures.
20. If the torque is satisfactory but the tool fails to shut-
off, only then, is it necessary to adjust the shut-off
mechanism. If it should become necessary, proceed as
follows:
a. Remove the Socket Plug (99) from the Hammer
Case.
b. Rotate the Drive Shaft until the Shutoff Adjustment
Screw (located 180 degrees from the yellow Torque
Adjustment Screw) is visible. This screw adjusts
the relief valve.
c. Rotate the Shutoff Adjustment Screw counter-
clockwise not more than 10 degrees. Adjustments
to this screw should never exceed five to ten degree
increments.
d. Replace the Socket Plug and re-test the pulse tool.
