Instruction Manual for TOP-PROTECT Safety Helmets
1. Name / Application
TOP-PROTECT safety helmets are work protective helmets that conform to EN 397 and meet the requirements of the
European Directive on Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) No. 2016/425.
The safety helmets are personal protective equipment and help avoid head injuries and reduce the harmful effects of
impacts on the head. This helmet should provide protection wherever the possibility exists of a person being hit on the
head by a falling object, or wherever there is a risk of a person hitting their head against a stationary object. To ensure
sufficient protection, this helmet must be adjusted to the user's head size. The protective function of the helmet is fully
effective only if the helmet fits perfectly and the headband is adjusted to the head. Please read this manual carefully to
obtain the best protection from your helmet. This helmet absorbs the energy of a blow through the partial destruction of,
or damage to, the shell and the harness. Even if such damage is not immediately recognizable, each helmet that has
been exposed to serious impact should be replaced. The relevant standards can be found on the label in the helmet.
EN 397:2012+A1:2012 Industrial Safety Helmets.
2. Warranty
Our liability for defects in the goods delivered is established in our terms of delivery. We do not accept any liability for
damage that is caused by failure to observe the instruction manual and conditions of use. Only products that are in
perfect condition and have the properties warranted by us leave our warehouse. If the following information in this
instruction manual is complied with, their correct operation is guaranteed.
Changes to the Helmets:
As delivered from the factory, the helmets comply with the above-mentioned standards, which is why no subsequent
modifications may be made to the product. Do not replace any original parts with non-standard parts, with the exception
of those spare parts and accessories that are recommended by the manufacturer and were produced specially for this
helmet.
3. Storage and Transport
Safety helmets must be stored in cool, dry conditions and be protected from heat and light. Ultraviolet light and extreme
heat, such as that caused by sunlight, can reduce the strength of the safety helmets.
Store and transport the product in its closed original packaging (between +5°C and +35°C) for up to five years. Avoid
direct sunlight. Employees should not store or transport safety helmets in direct sunlight in the rear storage space of
motor vehicles, or in some other way. Ensure on a daily basis that all parts are operational and are not damaged. Each
helmet that is subject to severe impacts must be replaced. The helmet can be transported in its original box in which it is
properly wrapped in packing paper. The recommended storage temperature is between +5°C and +35°C.
4. Assembly and Adjustment
To provide sufficient protection, this helmet must be worn with the peak pointing forwards. To ensure that it fits securely
and comfortably, adjust the headband at the back of the helmet as follows:
a) For a smaller size, simply push the two ends of the headband in the neck together to achieve the required head
size. With helmets with a twisting lock, you adjust the headband by turning the ratchet in a clockwise direction
until the required size is reached.
b) For a larger size, press the headband lightly at the two points above the locking mechanism section and pull the
two halves of the headband apart to the required size. With helmets with a twisting lock, you adjust the headband
by turning the ratchet in a counterclockwise direction until the required size is reached.
