1. INTRODUCTION
SOS is an electronic device to detect the acoustic emissions of sirens used on police vehicles and emergency vehicles such
as ambulances and fi re engines.
The acoustic siren detector SOS has been designed to allow public safety vehicles to rapidly access areas limited to transit by bol-
lards or barriers.

2. MAIN FEATURES

- The SOS detector works with a voltage of 9 to 30V AC/DC.
- It will also work if the supply power polarities are accidentally reversed.
- High selectivity. The SOS detector will work only if the sound received is identifi ed as that of a siren.
- The new spring connector allows it to be connected quickly without any screws to tighten.
- Simple to install thanks to the suitable housing for outdoor installation.
- Three free contact relay outputs allow three automations to be controlled simultaneously.
3. INSTALLATION
- Install the SOS detector with the cable and microphone passage holes facing down, at least 1 metre from the ground.
- Thread the connection cable through the hole on the side of the housing.
- Preferably use the four holes in the housing and lock with the screws or stainless steel tie rods, making sure they let no humidity
through.
- Connect the wires to the terminal, pressing on the orange lever.
- Close the housing, verifying it still has the same protection level.

4. DIP SWITCH CONFIGURATION

Dipswitch 1: When this switch is in the YLP position, detects the sound only if it is the yelp type siren used only in some countri-
es.. When the switch is in the YDT position, detects the sound emitted by standard sirens on police vehicles and
emergency vehicles, (recommended setting).
Dipswitch 2: When this switch is in the RLS position, the sensor will not interfere with the gate's normal closure time (recom-
mended setting). When the switch is in the LAT position, the gate will remain open until the reset button is pushed
or power is recycled.
This will override any other programming for closing times and the gate will remain open until it is reset. There is a
reset button on the outside of the enclosure.
Dipswitch 3: When this switch is in the MT position, the sensor will not interfere with the gate's normal closure time. When the
switch is set to 15M, the gate will remain open for 15 minutes unless it has been programmed for a different time
setting with dipswitches 4 and 5. Note: When switch #2 is in the LAT position, the settings for dipswitch #3 are
irrelevant.
