With the help of the user instruction of the product and the inspection sheet, and without any specific tool or a particular measuring device.
Observe and touch each component of the product in order to detect possible anomalies. If one or more checkpoints are defective, the harness
must be withdrawn from service and replaced by a compliant device. The use of this document for periodic inspection is reserved for competent
persons.
Inspect the visual aspect of the product; the device must be verifiable.

Locking cam spring:

Verify that the spring is operational by handling the locking cams, lay the fall arrester flat; the spring
should always reposition the connection strut against the body.
Directional fail-safe device:

Verify that the directional fail-safe device is operational by turning the fall arrester upside down.
Loss prevention cable:

Verify the condition and presence of the loss prevention cable, and make sure it is secure.
Energy absorber (Depending on the model) :

Check the condition of the energy absorber's transparent protective sheath; it cannot be deformed or
damaged. Visually confirm that the absorber's strap is not worn out. Check the condition of the
absorber's ends; there cannot be any signs of wear, cuts, burns or deformation.
Connector:

Verify the condition of the connector(s) using their control sheet.
Operation:

Verify that the fall arrester slides upwards and downwards on an 8 mm diameter cable; make sure the
fall arrester does not slip on the cable when it is in locked position.
Marking:

Check for the presence and legibility of the markings.
Overall condition :
Evaluate the state of wear, keeping the result of your above inspections in mind, as well as the
general appearance of the fall arrester.
