Installation Instructions
Overview
The 24" Low-Voltage Enclosure provides a compact housing for
mounting a low-voltage processor, and several accessory devices.
Important Notes
Codes: Install in accordance with all local and national electrical codes.
Note: Enclosure must be protected by an appropriately rated
circuit breaker, to be supplied and installed in accordance with
local codes by the installer.
Mounting Location: Power supply will hum slightly and internal relays
will click while in use. Mount in a location where such noise
is acceptable.
Environment: Ambient operating temperature:
0-40 °C, 32-104 °F, 0-90% humidity, non-condensing. Indoor use only.
Cleaning: Wipe with a clean damp cloth.
DO NOt use any chemical cleaning solutions.
Installation
1. Mount enclosure using one of the following methods (mounting
hardware is not provided). Enclosure is 100 mm (3-7/8 in.) deep past
cover mounting tabs. Enclosure cover dimensions are
620 mm x 410 mm (24-1/2 in. x 15-7/8 in.).
a. Surface Mount - Use keyholes shown in Mounting Diagram with
bolts sufficient for 14 kg (30 lbs.) of load (M6 (1/4 in.) bolts
recommended).
b. Recess Mount - Use screw locations shown in Mounting
Diagram with screws sufficient for 14 kg (30 lbs.) of load. Mount
enclosure flush to or not more than 3 mm (1/8 in.) below the finished
wall surface.
Danger - Locate and lock supply breaker in the OFF position
before connecting power input.
2. Remove mains voltage (high-voltage) cover and run power
wiring into the enclosure. Locations to run power wiring into
the enclosure are as shown in Wiring Diagram.
HWI-LV24-120 Wiring:
Prepare Wires. When making wire connections, follow the
recommended strip lengths and combinations for the supplied
wire connectors. Note: Wire connectors provided are suitable
for copper wire only.
• Strip insulations 1/2 in. (10 mm) for 10–14 AWG (6–2.5 mm
• Strip insulation 5/8 in. (16 mm) for 16–18 AWG (1.5–1.0 mm
Use wire connector to join one or two 12 or 14 AWG supply wires
with one 10-18 AWG control wire. Connect Hot/Live feed to the
black wire, Neutral feed to the white wire, and Earth Ground to the
green wire.
HWI-LV24-CE Wiring:
Terminal blocks will accept one 1-2.5 mm
two 1-1.5 mm
(18-16 AWG) wires. Tighten terminal blocks to 0.40

to 0.57 N
m (3.5 to 5 in-lbs.). Do not overtighten. Connect Hot/Live
•
feed to the brown terminal, Neutral feed to the blue terminal, and
Earth Ground to the green/yellow terminal.
3. Replace mains voltage (high-voltage) cover.
4. If the processor and the accessory boards are not to be
installed at this time, install the enclosure cover.
Ensure product identification label is at the bottom of the cover.
Tighten screws to 2.3 N
m (20 in.-lbs.).
