Hole Cutter Safety

conjunction with this product.
WARNING: Do not exceed the maximum rated speed of the hole cutter. Running faster than the
rated speed may cause serious injury, or damage to the tool.
• Wear approved eye protection, hearing protection and breathing protection when using this tool
• Ensure around and behind the cutting area is free from any hazard such as electrical cables or
pipework before drilling
• Remove any adjusting key or wrench before turning the powered tool ON

Intended Use
Adjustable hole cutter with cowling for drilling 40 – 200mm diameter holes. Suitable for use with
wood, plastic, plasterboard, aluminium and acrylic sheets.
Before Use
Attach the cowling (Fig. I)
IMPORTANT: The Cutter Shaft (1) uses a reverse thread (left-hand thread) to prevent loosening when
in use. To unscrew the Cowling Nut (2), turn in a clockwise direction; and to tighten, screw in an
anti-clockwise direction (Fig. II).
1. Remove the Cowling Nut and Spring (3) from the Cutter Shaft
2. Insert the top of the Cutter Shaft through the Cowling Collar (7) from the inside
3. Place the Spring over the Cutter Shaft and screw on the Cowling Nut until it is secure fully
covering the thread on the Cutter Shaft
Changing the drill bit
Drill bits supplied:
• Carbon Steel Lip and Spur Auger Drill Bit 8mm (11) for use with wood
• TCT Masonry Drill Bit 10mm (12) for use with brick and plasterboard
1. Select the correct drill bit for the material to be cut
2. Loosen the hex screw securing the drill bit in the Drill Holder (13), using the Hex Key (8)
3. Remove the existing drill bit and insert the replacement drill bit
4. Tighten the hex screw sufficiently to secure the drill bit
Changing the cutters
Cutter blade types supplied:
• TCT Blades (9) suitable for harder materials
• Carbon Steel Blades (10) suitable for softer materials
1. Select the correct cutter blade for the material to be cut
2. Loosen and remove the hex screw securing the cutter in the Cutter Holder (5)
3. Remove the existing cutter and insert the replacement cutter
Note: The TCT Blades should be inserted with the bevelled cutting edge facing the direction of
travel – clockwise (Fig. III). The Carbon Steel Blades should be placed with the flat side facing
inwards (Fig. IV).
4. Tighten the hex screw sufficiently to secure the cutter blade
