4.3 Current Measurement
Attention !
v Never measure in circuits with more han 240 V nominal voltage.
v Never measure currents exceeding 15 A. Ensure that these circuits
are protected with 16 A fuses max..
v Currents between 10 A and 15 A may only be measured for a
maximum period of 15 seconds.
1. Set range selection switch (2) to ;A or = A.
2. In case of unknown currents, always select 15 A current range and
switch to lower measurement ranges, if required.
Disconnect test leads from UUT prior to changing measurement
ranges.
3. Connect multimeter in
series to UUT (also compare
figure) and only switch on UUT
once the multimeter is
connected to UUT.
4. Read the measurement
value displayed.
4.4 Resistance Measurement
Attention !
Prior to any measurement ensure that the UUT is not live. If required
carry out voltage measurement for verification. Compare para. 4.2 for
voltage measurement.
1. Set range selection switch (2) to "V" range.
Select measurement range by awaiting resistance value. The most
appropriate measurement range is automatically selected during
measurement for model 9005.
2. Connect test leads to UUT. The measurement voltage polarity at "V
V mA" input is positive.
3. Read measurement value on display.
Overload Display:
When exceeding the measurement range,
the left "1" is indicated for model 9004.
In manual mode, model 9005 indicates
"OL" on the display. Automatic switching
to higher measurement range is carried
out for automatic measure-ment range
selection mode. "OL" is in-dicated when
exceeding the highest measurement
range.
