Before Use
1.
Choose a location for the scale. When lifting or moving the scale, be sure to lift the
entire scale from the bottom of the Scale Housing, not the Baby Basket. To get an
accurate weight, place the scale away from air conditioning and heat vents and
direct sunlight. Place the scale on a stable, flat, level surface. NEITHER THE
BABY
BASKET OR SCALE HOUSING SHOULD HANG OVER THE
EDGE OF ANY SURFACE.
2.
Check the calibration of the scale following the instructions provided in the Service
Section of this manual.
ZERO FUNCTION
The BabyChecker also has the feature of allowing a blanket, towel or other type of
padding or protection to be placed on the scale before weighing and the weight of this
piece being subtracted from the weight calculation.
To use this feature, place the towel, etc. on the Baby Basket or scale housing and
then press the Start/Zero switch.
WARNING: DO NOT LEAVE INFANTS UNATTENDED.
A FALL FROM THE SCALE COULD CAUSE SERIOUS INJURY.
Before weighing infants, make sure the Baby Basket has been attached securely to the
Scale Housing. The Baby Basket has been designed to accept weights up to 20 pounds
or 10 kilograms. For heavier babies, read the section which follows on "Weighing
Toddlers".
