INSPECTION AND MAINTENANCE
The frequency of inspection and maintenance will
vary with the type of equipment or materials used
or other factors (e.g. heavy use, levels of vandalism,
coastal location, air pollution, age of equipment,
...). The frequency of the inspection checks should
be increased according to the occurrence of special
factors.
During regular inspection checks, the following aspects
should be considered
Check the surroundings of the White Rhino
construction. Make sure no hard or dangerous objects
are lying around, and check the shock-absorbing effect
of the ground.
Check wooden parts for splinters and structural
damage.
Bolt and nut connections can work loose over time. If
necessary tighten, but make sure that the wood does
not split or splinter.
Check metal parts such as corner joints and swing
hooks for wear and rust which could adversely affect
strength. If in doubt, replace. Moving metal parts must
be lubricated regularly.
In case of cracks or fractures in parts or connectors of
accessories such as swings and the like, this product
must immediately be removed from the equipment.
Should one of the constructions be found to be
incomplete or damaged, until the damage is repaired,
the construction should be excluded from use by the
playground users.
Routine visual inspection should be executed weekly
to monthly
- Always check that the bolts and nuts are securely
fastened.
- Check the shock absorbing surface for objects that
don't belong there.
- Check for missing parts.
- Check the equipment ground clearances.
Operational inspection should be executed every 1 to
3 months
