RADIO RECEPTION
• Set the MODE selector 4 to RADIO.
• Adjust the sound with the VOLUME 3 control.
For extra amplification of the bass, use the
DBB contol 1. You may connect stereo
headphones with 3.5 mm plug to the socket p
PHONES 5. The loudspeakers will then be
muted.
• Select the wave band using BAND switch 6.
• Tune to a radio station using the TUNING knob
7.
– For FM, pull out the telescopic aerial. To
improve FM reception, incline and turn the
aerial. Reduce its length if the FM signal is too
strong (usually occurs when very close to a
transmitter).
– For MW/AM or LW, the set is provided with a
built-in aerial, so there is no need to use the
telescopic aerial. The aerial can be directed by
turning the whole set.
• When ST 6 0 lights up, you are receiving a
FM-stereo transmitter.
Any disturbing noise, due to a weak FM-stereo
signal can be suppressed by setting the
MONO/STEREO switch $ to MONO. The ST 6
will stop flashing and you will hear (and record)
the FM program in MONO.
• The set is switched off if the MODE selector 4
is in position TAPE and no buttons are pressed.

Cassette Playback
CASSETTE PLAYBACK
PLAYBACK ON DECK A OR B
• Set the MODE selector 4 to TAPE.
• Press EJ / and insert a recorded cassette (fig.
3). For playback, any cassette type can be
inserted (fig. 3).
• Adjust the sound with the VOLUME control 3.
For extra amplification of the bass, set the DBB
1 switch to the ON position. You may connect
stereo headphones with 3.5 mm plug to socket
p PHONES 5. The loudspeakers will then be
muted.
• Press PLAY 1 and playback will start.
– Playback stops when the tape in the deck
reaches its end.
• To interrupt playback, press PAUSE ;.
• To continue playback, press PAUSE ; again.
• Press STOP / if you want to stop the playback
before the end off the tape.
When the end of the tape is reached, the PLAY
1 buttons are released.
• The set is switched off if the MODE selector 4
is in the TAPE position and no buttons are
pressed.
WINDING THE TAPE
• Press F.FWD 5 to fast forward the tape.
• Press REW 6 to fast rewind the tape.
• Press STOP / to stop fast forward or fast-
rewind, or before the end of the tape.
CONTINUOUS PLAY
• Set the MODE selector 4 to TAPE.
• Press both EJ buttons / and insert a recorded
cassette into both decks (fig. 3).
• Press PLAY 1 on deck A. Then press PAUSE ;
and PLAY 1 on deck B
– Playback begins with Deck A.
• Playback stops when the tape in Deck A
reaches the end.
– The PAUSE ; button will be automatically
released and playback continues with Deck B.
• Press STOP / if you want to stop playback
before the end of the tape in Deck A or Deck B.
The set is then switched off.
