GETTING STARTED

POWER
After safely connecting the supplied PSU first to the
keyboard and then to the mains power, press the
POWER button (2) to turn on the instrument. The
LED display (11) will light up. Pressing the power
button again will turn off the keyboard.
VOLUME ADJUSTMENT
Control the master volume by pressing the MASTER
VOL +/- buttons (3). The LED display (11) shows
the volume bar (M) to indicate the volume level.
Pressing the +/- buttons simultaneously will reset to
the default volume level.
The rhythm volume can also be adjusted, using the
RHYTHM VOLUME +/- buttons (4). The LED display
(11) shows "RhyVol" and the current level from
"000" to "007".
WARNING! To prevent damage to your hearing,
speakers, and other audio equipment, reduce the
volume and have the power off before connecting
to any other equipment.
DEMO SONGS
The MK-5000 has 40 in-built demo songs. Press the
DEMO SONG button (12) to play each demo song
in sequence. The SONG indicator (C) will show
on the LED display. Press the START/STOP button
(28) or the DEMO SONG button again to control
playback. The display will indicate the name and
song number of the demo song being played.
When playing demo songs, use the +/- buttons
on the number keypad (27) to move to the next or
previous song, or enter a 3-digit number from 000
to 039 to select the songs as required.
TIMBRE SELECTION
Press the TIMBRE button (23) followed by the
required timbre number on the number keypad to
select from 345 different timbres, numbered 000 to
344. The default tone will be "000 Acoustic Grand
Piano" ("AcoP" on the display). Use the +/- controls
or enter a 3-digit number on the number keypad
(27) to scroll through/select the different sounds.
When using other functions, press the TIMBRE
button (23) to return to/enable to the timbre select
function.
CHORD TIMBRES
The MK-5000 has five chord timbres, accessed
by pressing the CHORD TIMBRE button (33)
repeatedly to cycle through the options.
The display will show "ChordTone" and the timbre
number from "000" to "004".
CHORD MAT
Embellish your performances by pressing any
of the six CHORD MAT buttons (9) when playing
to add different rhythm phrases. Different
combinations of CHORD MAT buttons can be
pressed if desired.
RHYTHM SELECTION
Press the RHYTHM button (25) followed by the
required rhythm number on the number keypad to
select from 128 different rhythms, numbered 000 to
127. The default rhythm will be "000 16 Beat Pop".
Use the +/- controls on the number keypad (27) to
scroll through the different beats. Use the START/
STOP button (28) to control playback. When using
other functions, press the RHYTHM button (25) to
return to/enable to the rhythm select function.
ADJUSTING THE RHYTHM VOLUME
Control the rhythm volume using the RHYTHM VOL
+ and RHYTHM VOL - buttons (4). The numeric
display shows the level from "000" to "007" and
the text display shows "RhyVol". Pressing both
the RHYTHM VOL + and RHYTHM VOL - buttons
together will reset to the default level.
FILL-IN
Pressing the FILL-IN button (30) will momentarily
change the rhythm patters, to add variety to your
performances. Fills can be added at any time
during rhythm or auto-accompaniment playback.
RHYTHM SHIFT
Pressing the RHYTHM SHIFT button (26) will
add variations to the performance by playing an
alternative version of the selected rhythm. Press the
RHYTHM SHIFT button again to return to the main
menu.
INTRO/ENDING
This button allows you to insert an intro section at
the start of a rhythm or add an ending section at
the end of your performance. Press the INTRO/
ENDING button (31) before starting the rhythm to
add the intro, and again during playback to add the
ending section and then stop the rhythm.
TEMPO
Use the TEMPO +/- buttons (6) to increase or
decrease the rhythm speed. The tempo range is 30-
240BPM The default tempo will be 120BPM.
