Pressing and holding either tempo +/- buttons will
adjust the tempo quickly. Pressing both tempo
+/- buttons simultaneously will reset to the default
120BPM value.
METRONOME
The MK-5000 has an in-built metronome feature
that can be started and stopped by pressing the
METRONOME button (32).
The number of beats per measure can be set from
1-4. The first time the METRONOME button is
pressed the metronome sound will play one beat
per measure and the display will show "001". Press
the METRONOME button again to stop playback,
the display will show "OFF". The second time the
METRONOME button is pressed the metronome
sound will play two beats per measure and the
display will show "002". This sequence continues up
to 8 beats per measure, then cycles back to 1 beat
per measure.
Use the TEMPO +/- buttons (6) to adjust the tempo
of the metronome as required. The tempo range is
30-240BPM.
TOUCH RESPONSE
By default, the MK-5000 has touch response
enabled so that louder notes are played when the
keys are pressed harder and vice versa. Use the
TOUCH button (17) to turn off/on this feature. The
display will show either "TouchOff" or "TouchOn" as
appropriate.
PITCH BEND
Using the PITCH BEND WHEEL (39) can add
smooth changes to notes being played on the
keyboard. The pitch is increased by moving the
wheel up and decreased by moving it down. The
wheel returns to its centre position when released.
DUAL
This feature allows you to layer two timbre sounds
together to create a fuller sound. Press the DUAL
button (18) and the display will show "DoubleOn".
The default timbre combination is "000 Acoustic
Grand Piano" and "048 String Ensemble".
When in dual mode, select other combinations by
pressing the TIMBRE button (23) followed by the
number keypad (27) to select the first timbre. Then
press the TIMBRE 2 button (24) followed by the
number keypad (27) to select the second timbre.
To exit dual mode, press the DUAL button (18)
again.
SPLIT
This feature allows you to use the keyboard to play
two separate instruments at the same time, with
the left-hand 24 keys playing one timbre and the
remaining keys playing another.
Before pressing the SPLIT button (21) select a
timbre in the usual way, using the TIMBRE button
(23) and the number keypad (27). This sound will
be used for the left-hand 24 keys of the keyboard.
Next, press the SPLIT button (21) to activate this
function. The "SPLIT" indicator (H) will be displayed.
The keyboard is now divided into two sections and
using the TIMBRE button (23) and number keypad
(27) again will select the sound for the right-hand
side of the keyboard.
The pitch of the left-hand notes is raised so that the
first note changes from C2 to C4, to match the pitch
of the right-hand side of the keyboard. To exit this
mode, press the split BUTTON (21) again.
Please note: The split function cannot be used
in conjunction with the single or fingered chord
modes.
RHYTHM & ACCOMPANIMENT SYNCHRO START
The MK-5000 can be set to begin playing a rhythm
at the same time as the accompaniment begins. To
do this, firstly ensure that either single or fingered
chord mode is selected. Then, select the desired
rhythm and press the SYNC button (29) to prepare
for synchro start. The SYNC indicator (N) will show
on the display. Now when you start playing the
keyboard keys, the rhythm will begin to play.
Use the START/STOP button (28) to control the
rhythm playback.
SUSTAIN
Note sustain can be added by pressing the
SUSTAIN button (19). The SUSTAIN indicator (F) will
be shown on the display when this effect is turned
on. Pressing the SUSTAIN button again will turn off
the effect and display indicator.
VIBRATO
Use the VIBRATO +/- buttons (5) to add a vibrato
effect to the notes being played. The range is from
000 to 007. As the vibrato level is adjusted, the
display (U) will show "Vibrat" and the current level.
Pressing the VIBRATO +/- buttons simultaneously
resets the vibrato effect back to 000.
