As shown in Fig ures 3 through 6, the Model A-2 or Model
B-1 Pres sure Main te nance De vice is in stalled in the gas sup -
ply line lead ing to the dry pipe valve, de luge or preaction
sys tems. With the Model A-2, the gas sup ply is an ex ist ing
air sys tem or a tank mounted com pres sor with a pres sure
con trol switch, or a ni tro gen sup ply equipped with a reg u lat -
ing de vice With the Model B-1, the air sup ply is a com pres -
sor with out a pres sure con trol switch.
con nec tion is pro vided on both mod els for mount ing an op -
tional pres sure gauge to mon i tor the out let pres sure. Mul ti -
ple dry pipe sys tems may be sup plied by a sin gle ai r
main te nance de vice through stan dard dry pipe valve trim.

Make sure the air flow through the de vice is as shown
by the ar rows in Figures1, 3 and 4.
b.
In stall as close to the dry pipe valve air line trim mings
as pos si ble (Fig ure 3) or in stall in the air sup ply im me -
di ately lead ing to the de luge or preaction trim (Fig ure
4). Re fer to sep a rate dry pipe valve, de luge valve or
preaction sys tem bul le tins for proper in stal la tion in for -
ma tion on those de vices.

Make sure the air flow through the De vice is as
shown by the ar rows in Fig ures 2, 5 and 6.

Re move the Pres sure Switch Cover (1) and con -
nect the wir ing in ac cor dance with the Na tional
Elec trical Code or other ap pro pri ate stan dards.
The con nec tions should be as shown for sin gle
phase wiring. Re fer to sep a rate dry pipe valve and
de luge valve bul le tins for additional in stal la tion in -
for ma tion of air maintenance de vices.
For 3 - Phase Wiring, a listed and/or ap proved,
prop erly sized mo tor starter with ap pro pri ate
NEMA enclosure must be pro vided. The wir ing of
the pres sure switch, mo tor starter, and air com -
pres sor must be in ac cor dance with the Na tional
Elec tri cal Code, or other ap pro pri ate stan dards.
