Adjusting the equalizer
Set all slide controls for the frequencies to
the center position (0 dB).
Switch on the equalizer with the EQ button
1.
The slide controls are illuminated.
Since the 7 slide controls for the frequencies
of 60, 150, 400, 1 000, 2 500, 6 300 and 16
16 000 Hz are still set to their center positions,
the device will show no sound control effects,
yet.
You can now adapt the sound of your car
stereo - or the frequency response, as the
experts say - to the specific acoustical
conditions in your car and according to your
personal taste. This is done by selectively
increasing or reducing the individual fre-
quencies.
By moving the slide control correspondingly,
each of the 7 frequencies can be increased
or reduced by + 12 dB/- 12 dB.
In order to find the optimal setting for your
specific purposes, proceed as follows (all
frequency controls in their center positions):
Adjust the 60 Hz control, until the bass
reproduction sounds good to you.
Improve the bass reproduction using the
slide controls for 150 and 400 Hz.
Use the 16 000 Hz control (16 k) for
optimization of the treble reproduction.
Now improve the treble reproduction by
means of the 6 300 Hz control (6.3 k).
Check, if the sound can befurther im-
proved with the 2 500 Hz (2.5 k) and
1 000 Hz (1 k) controls.
Repeat the five settings just mentioned
in order to improve the sound impres-
sion in whole.
By switching the equalizer on and off and
with the correct adjustments, you can
convince yourself of the essential sound
improvement obtained.
