1. Before you use this product
• Please make sure you read the instruction manual carefully.
This information will help you to familiarise yourself with your new device, learn all of its
functions and parts, find out important details about its first use and how to operate it,
and get advice in the event of faults.
• Following and respecting the instructions in your manual will prevent damage to your
instrument and loss of your statutory rights arising from defects due to incorrect use.
• We shall not be liable for any damage occurring as a result of non-following of these
instructions. Likewise, we take no responsibility for any incorrect readings or for any
consequences resulting from them.
• Please pay particular attention to the safety notices!

3. Field of operation and all of the benefits of your new instrument at a glance
• For monitoring the CO
concentration in buildings, where people are present, eg:

schools, offices, public facilities
• Large display with LED indication (green/yellow/red)
• Indication of indoor temperature and humidity
• Automatic brightness adjustment
• Wall mounting or table stand (removable)
4. For your safety
• The product is exclusively intended for the field of application described above. The
product should only be used as described within this instruction.
• Unauthorised repairs, modifications or changes to the product are prohibited.
Caution!

Risk of electrocution!

• Plug the device only into a mains socket installed within your country's electrical safety
regulations and with a correct mains voltage (see nameplate).
• The mains socket must be located near the equipment and it must be easily accessible.
• Unplug the device immediately if any fault occurs.
• The instrument and the mains adapter must not come into contact with water or mois-
ture. Only suitable for operation in dry interiors.
• Do not use the unit if the housing or the mains adapter are damaged.
• Operate the device out of reach of persons (including children) who cannot fully appreci-
ate the potential risks of handling electrical equipment.
• Only use the supplied mains adapter.
• Do not pull the plug out of the socket by its lead.
• Route the mains lead so that it does not come into contact with sharp-edged or hot
objects.
Important information on product safety!
• Do not expose the device to extreme temperatures, vibrations or shocks.
• Leave the protective caps at the left edge of the housing.

EMC/RFI
• Protect the unit from EMI (Electro Magnetic Interference) from induction heaters and
microwave ovens and Electro Static Discharge. Readings may be affected if the unit is
operated within a radio frequency electromagnetic field strength of approximately 3
volts per meter, but the performance of the instrument will not be permanently affect-
ed.

* These two devices are only important for calibration during production and have no function
for the user. Do not remove!

6. Getting started

• Pull off the protection foil on the display.
• Insert the adapter into the jack. Connect the power adapter to a wall socket.
• Press the On/Off switch to turn on (I) the instrument.
• The unit is ready for use.
• The actual measurements will appear on the display: Temperature, humidity and CO
concentration with the suitable smiley indicator.
• With each measurement a point will light up for a few seconds in the right corner of the
display. The latest results will appear immediately.

7. Dimmer-function

• The built-in brightness sensor adjusts the backlight to its environment automatically. This
function saves energy.
8. Smiley - LED indication
Laughing face:
The CO
concentration is below 800 ppm. The green warning lamp lights up.

Neutral face:
The CO
concentration is between 800 ppm and 1200 ppm. The yellow warning lamp

lights up.
Sad face:
The CO
concentration is over 1200 ppm. The red warning lamp lights up

9. Care and maintenance
• Clean it with a soft damp cloth. Do not use solvents or scouring agents. Protect from
moisture.
• Pull out the plug of the socket, if you do not use the product for a lengthy period.
• Keep the instrument in a dry place.
