In the case of distribution by means of distance communication, free
collection at the place of delivery is limited to electrical and electronic
equipment in categories 1, 2 and 4 according to Article 2(1) of the
Electrical and Electronic Equipment Act, namely "heat transmitters",
"display screen equipment" (surface area of more than 100 cm²) or
"large equipment" (the latter with at least one external dimension
exceeding 50 centimetres). For other electrical and electronic
equipment (categories 3, 5, 6), a return option must be guaranteed at a
reasonable distance from the respective end user.
Old appliances may be handed in free of charge at the local recycling
centre or at the following collection points near you:
www.take-e-back.de
For electrical and electronic equipment in categories 1, 2 and 4, we also
offer the possibility of free collection at the place of delivery. When
purchasing a new appliance, you have the option of selecting an old
appliance collection via website.
Batteries can be returned free of charge wherever they are sold (e.g.
supermarkets, DIY stores, drug-stores). Recycling centres also take back
batteries. You can also return batteries to us by post. Used batteries in
household quantities can be returned directly to us free of charge from
Monday to Friday between 07:30 and 15:30 at the following address:
Chal-Tec GmbH
Member of Berlin Brands Group
Handwerkerstr. 11
15366 Dahlwitz-Hoppegarten
Germany
It is important to note that, for safety reasons, lithium batteries must be
secured against short-circuiting before they are returned (e.g. by taping
off the terminals).
If there are also the signs Cd, Hg or Pb under the crossed-out dustbin
on the battery, this indicates that the battery contains hazardous
substances. ("Cd" stands for cadmium, "Pb" for lead and "Hg" for
mercury).
Note on waste prevention
By extending the life of your old appliances, you help to use resources
efficiently and avoid additional waste. You can extend the life of your
old appliances by having defective old appliances repaired. If your old
appliance is in good condition, you could donate it, give it away or sell it.
