The outlet must be 110-120 V~, 60 Hz only. The outlet must be
installed in accordance with local electrical codes.
•
If a properly grounded 110-120 V~, 60 Hz outlet is not available, have
a proper outlet installed by a qualified electrician.
•
The outlet must be controlled by a dedicated wall switch with
a marked "Off" position and have a proper switch installed by a
qualified electrician. The switch shall be installed within sight of the
sink opening or the disposal.
•
If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the
manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified persons in order
to avoid a hazard.
Wiring the disposal directly to the household power
•
Turn power off at the fuse box.
•
Remove the metal plate on the bottom of the disposal.
•
Cut the white neutral and black hot wires close to the connectors
and cut the green ground wire just before the groove where the cord
enters the disposal. Pull the electrical cord out of the housing.
•
Install a cable connector (not included) into the access hole and
secure it by tightening the nut.
•
From the wall, insert the power supply cable through the connector
and tighten the connector.
•
Connect the internal disposal lead wires to the coordinating wire lead
from the electrical source. Connect white to white, black to black
or red, and the green ground wire to the ground lead with wire nuts
(not included).
•
Push the wires into the disposal and replace the metal plate (do not
displace the plastic shield with label).
Operation
NOTICE
(Reference IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
during operation of the disposal) The Anti-Jam Swivel Impellers
make a clicking sound as they swing into place. This indicates normal
operation.
1. Remove the sink stopper. Turn on a medium flow of cold water.
2. Turn the switch to the "ON" position; your motor is turning at full
speed and ready to use.
