Air Velocity Average (Multiple Locations)
1.
If the unit is on, press and hold the AVERAGE MULTI-POINT button until the
unit beeps twice to erase any stored data.
OR
Turn the unit on. When "vel" appears in the upper left corner and the
temperature appears in the lower right corner, the unit is ready to take a
measurement.

Place the unit in the airstream.
3.
After taking the measurement, press and release the HOLD button.
You will hear a tone and HOLD will appear on the display.
4.
Press the MIN/MAX REC button.
You will hear a tone and a single digit (1 – 8) will appear on the display.
This digit is the location number.
5.
Repeat Steps 2 – 5 until all of the locations have been tested, up to the
maximum of 8 points.
6.
Press the AVERAGE MULTI-POINT button.
The display will show the average air velocity measurement and the number
of locations tested.
Air Flow Measurement (Single Location)
Air flow, or volume of air per unit of time, is calculated by multiplying the air
velocity by the free area of the grill or register. This specification is available from
the grill or register manufacturer.
1.
Turn the unit on.
2.
Press the MODE VELOCITY FREE AREA FLOW button.
AREA and 1.111 will appear on the display.
The leftmost digit will flash.
If this is correct for your application, proceed to Step 3.
Otherwise change the area value as shown below.
• Press the HOLD button to increment the flashing digit.
• Press the AVERAGE MULTI-POINT button to advance to the next digit.
3.
Press the MODE VELOCITY FREE AREA FLOW button to save the information.
FLOW will appear on the display.
4.
Place the unit in the airstream.
