1. Before you use this product
• Please make sure you read the
instruction manual carefully.

2. Application
• For measuring the degree of moisture
in wood (including paper and card-
board) as well as in soft building
materials (mortar, concrete and plas-
ter).
3. For your safety
• This product is exclusively intended
for the range of application described
above. It should only be used as
described within these instructions.
• Unauthorized repairs, alterations or
changes to the product are prohibi-
ted.
Caution!
Risk of injury:
• Be careful when handling the pointed

probes. Store the device with its pro-
tective cap.
• Keep this instrument and the batter-
ies out of reach of children.

• Batteries contain harmful acids and
may be hazardous if swallowed. If a
battery is swallowed, this can lead to
serious internal burns and death
within two hours. If you suspect a
battery could have been swallowed or
otherwise caught in the body, seek
medical help immediately.
• Low batteries should be changed as
soon as possible to prevent damage
caused by leaking.
• Never use a combination of old and
new batteries together, nor batteries
of different types.
• Wear chemical-resistant protective
gloves and safety glasses when han-
dling leaking batteries.

temperatures, vibrations or shocks.

5. Getting started
• Open the battery compartment at the
back with a suitable screwdriver.
• Insert four new AAA 1.5 V batteries,
polarity as illustrated.
• Tighten the battery compartment lid
back on.

• Press the ON/SET button to switch on
the instrument.
• The device displays the ambient tem-
perature in °C.
• Press and hold the ON/SET button to
change between °C (Celsius) or °F
(Fahrenheit) as temperature unit.

• When the instrument is not used, it
will automatically switch off after
approx. 30 seconds.
5.1 Function test (Fig. 3)
• Press the ON/SET button to switch on
the instrument.
• Pull off the protective cap and turn it
around.
• Hold both probes against the con-
tacts (B and T).
• T: Reference value for wood:
display should be at 19% ±1
• B: Reference value for building
materials:
all indicator bars should flash
• If the function test is successful, you
can start the measuring procedure.
• For storing you can put the cap on
the bottom side.

5.2 Performing the measurement

• To measure the moisture in a mate-
rial, press both probes into the wood
and/or material to be tested.
• The measurement is finished as soon
as the result appears on the display.
• Pull the probes carefully out of the
object.

6. Backlight
• If you press and hold the light button,
the illumination switches on.
• The automatic off-function is deacti-
vated.
• Press the light button shortly to
switch off the illumination.
7. Care and maintenance
• Clean the instrument with a soft
damp cloth. Do not use solvents or
scouring agents. Protect it from
moisture!
• Remove the batteries if the device will
not be used for an extended period of
time.
• Store the device in a dry place.

7.1 Battery replacement

• Change the batteries when the bat-
tery symbol appears on the display.
8. Trouble shooting

9. Waste disposal
Never dispose of empty bat-
teries and rechargeable bat-
teries with ordinary house-
hold waste.

to your retail store or to an
appropriate collection site
depending on national or
local regulations in order to
protect the environment.

tained heavy metals are:
