To determine the results, and in accordance with the requirements in relation to the labelling of energyrelated
products and with regard to ecodesign requirements, the following calculation and measurement methods were
applied: Directive of the European Parliament and of the Council 2010/30/EU; REGULATION NO 65/2014 and
Directive of the European Parliament and of the Council 2009/125/EC; REGULATION NO 66/2014.
EN 50564:2011 - Electrical and electronic household and office equipment - Measurement of low power consumption.
EN 60704-2-13 - Household and similar electrical appliances - Test code for the determination of airborne acoustical
noise - Particular requirements for range hoods.
EN 61591 - Household range hoods and other cooking fume extractors - Methods for measuring performance
Information to reduce the environmental impact (e.g. energy consumption) of cooking according to Annex I, point 2
of Regulation (EU) No 66/2014 with regard to the setting of ecodesign requirements for household ovens, hobs and
cooker hoods.
● Only use pots and pans with flat bottoms for cooking. Uneven floors increase energy consumption.
● Always close pots with a suitable lid. When cooking without a lid, you need four times more energy. Using a glass lid can
save energy again because you can see the contents without having to open the lid.
● Adjust the pot size to the diameter of the cooking zone used. Pans and pots that are too small on the hob will lead to
energy losses.
● Use a small pot for small quantities. A large pot that is only slightly filled requires much more energy
● Use as little water as possible. This saves energy. Vegetables retain their vitamins.
● After cooking or frying, switch down the cooking zones to a lower power level in good time.
● Switch off the cooker hood after cooking or use the delayed switch-off function (on some models)
● Turn off the cooker hood lighting after cooking.
● Adjust the fan levels to the intensity of the cooking fumes.
● Use the appliance's highest motor speed only when there is a high concentration of cooking fumes..
● Clean and replace the grease filters regularly because the clean filters increase the efficiency of the appliance.
● Ensure that there is sufficient supply air when operating the cooker hood.
