INSTALLATION, OPERATING AND MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS FOR COOKER HOOD
MODEL METAPHORA 230-240 Vac - 50 Hz
Exhausting cooker hood. The equipment is constructed in accordance with European Standards and with the requirements included in
the following Directives: 2006/95EC ( Low Voltage Directive), 2004/108 (Electromagnetic Compatibility).
The unit (Picture 1) is composed of the following elements:
1) hood module
2) telescopic chimney
3) glass
Read the instruction manual before installing and/or using the hood.
The unit must be fitted at a distance of at least 65 cm. from the cooking hob. If the mounting instructions of the gas cooker indicate a wider
distance, respect it. The unit must not be mounted above cookers fitted with top radiant plate.
Respect all the air discharge regulations.
The air must not be discharged in a pipe used to discharge exhaust fumes produced by gas-fed equipments or fuel-fed equipments (this
does not apply to filtering hoods).
The room must be adequately ventilated when the hoods is used together with other gas-fed or fuel-fed equipments.
For an easy access, it is advisable to move possible furniture under the installation area.
Verify that the installation surface is strong.
Installation must be carried out by qualified installers according to present regulations
All fixtures are provided with the cookerhood.
Prior to installing the cookerhood, disassemble the bottom unit by disconnecting the electrical connectors for the lights and display and
remove, then proceed with disassembling in order the canopy unit, extractor fan unit and telescopic chimney.
Mounting the main structure to the ceiling (Fig.2)
1) Adjust the height H of the telescopic structure by turning the screws illustrated in Fig. 2-A. The Canopy unit extends 377 mm past H and
the minimum clearance between the appliance and the hob is 650mm as illustrated in Fig.1.
2) Secure the telescopic structure to the ceiling using the anchor bolts provided (Fig. 2-B) in the kit.
Mounting and installing the telescopic chimney (Fig.3)
3) Mount the chimney unit and secure in place to the structure previously fixed to the ceiling with the screw fixtures as illustrated in Fig. 3-C.
4) Install the extractor box unit inside the telescopic structure and secure in place with the screw fixtures as illustrated in Fig. 3-D.
Mounting and installing the canopy unit (Fig.3)
5) Mount the canopy unit to the telescopic structure and secure in place with the screw fixtures to the extractor unit as illustrated in Fig.
3-E.
Mounting and installing the bottom unit (Fig.4)
6) Connect the display power cable from the extractor unit to the canopy unit.
7) Connect the lighting power cable between the extractor unit and bottom unit
8) Secure the bottom unit to the extractor unit using the 4 screw fixtures as illustrated in Fig. 4-F
Mounting and installing glass panels (Fig.4)
9) Mount the glass panels and secure in place using the screw fixtures and washers provided (4-G)
This equipment must be connected to a grounding plant.
Two types of electrical connection can be used:
1) Using a standard plug to be connected to the power cable and inserted in a mains socket which must be accessible (so that the plug
can be disconnected when servicing is carried out). Make sure that the plug is accessible also after the complete installation of the
equipment.
2) By means of a fixed mains connection, fitting a bipolar switch, which ensures the disconnection, with an opening distance of the
contacts allowing a complete disconnection on the conditions of the overvoltage III category, according to installation regulations. The
ground connection (yellow-green wire) must not be interrupted.
Refer to the plate inside the hood for the mains voltage and frequency ratings.
This cooker hood can be employed as exhausting or filtering.
Exhausting (external evacuation). Kitchen smokes are driven outside through a flue joined to the exhaust pipe flue connector.
This pipe must not under any circumstances be connected to cooker, boiler or burner exhaust pipes, etc.
Filtering (inside recycling). Smokes pass through the activated charcoal filter (Picture 5 - G) to be cleaned and recycled in the kitchen
environment by means of holes from which the purified air will come out. These holes have to be free and communicating with the
kitchen environment.
In this case you should not install the exhaust pipe without curve.
Cookerhood remote control
Button ON/OFF "P1" is for switching the cookerhood on and off.
Button LUCE "P2" is for switching the cookerhood light on and off.
Button PIU' "P3" is for increasing motor speed. When the motor reaches speed 4 letters "HI" (max
speed) appear on the display. The letters "HI" flash and the cookerhood will work at this speed for
10 minutes and then automatically reduces speed to speed 3.
Button MENO "P4" is for reducing motor speed.
