3.1 Flushing the store for initial
commissioning

• For your own safety, always use a residual current device
(RCD) which stops the pump immediately in the case of
a malfunction.
• Extensions cable must have at least the same cross
sectional area as the pump cable. When the cable is longer
than 20 m, the extension cable must be stronger than the
pump cable. Disregarding these instructions may lead to the
destruction of the windings –
Please carry out the following steps before flushing the store
for initial commissioning or before flushing and filling the
solar thermal system:
• Tighten the screwings and clamps of the SBS 1000
• Close the ball valves of the SBS 1000
• Fill the tank with a sufficient amount of heat transfer fluid
• Put the sealing cap onto the filling hole of the tank and
close it by one half rotation only, in order to avoid negative
pressure.
• Connect the pressure hose of the SBS 1000 to the
fill valve.
• Connect the flushing hose of the SBS 1000 to the fill
and drain valve at the lowest point of the solar thermal
system.
• Open the ball valves of the SBS 1000.
• Open the fill valve and the fill and drain valve at the
lowest point of the solar thermal system.
• Switch on the filling pump.
• Flush the pipe by means of the flushing and filling station
until the discharged heat transfer fluid is free of dirt
particles
• Switch off the filling pump
• Close the fill and drain valve at the lowest point of the
solar thermal system.
• Close the ball valves of the SBS 1000
• Remove the flushing hose and the pressure hose.
Empty the contents of the hoses into the tank of the
SBS 1000 by opening the ball valves carefully.
Close the ball valves.
