17. Troubleshooting

Problem
The device cannot
be switched on.
The device switch-
es off when it is in
use.
No or poor radio
reception
No sound
Possible cause
The batteries may
be dead.
The mains cable
is not connected
properly.
The batteries may
be dead.
The station signals
are too weak.
The volume is set
too low.
Remedy
 If you are operating the device us-
ing batteries, check that they are
correctly inserted and charged.
 Ensure that the mains cable is
properly connected.
 Operate the device using the
mains cable or replace the batter-
ies.
 Adjust the frequency of the sta-
tions.
 Move the radio to a different loca-
tion or change the direction of the
aerial to improve the reception, if
necessary.
 Increase the volume as required.
