BEFORE CALLING FOR SERVICE

THE AIR CONDITIONER
WILL
NOT OPERATE
Check
if...
Wall plug disconnected.
House fuse blown or circuit breaker tripped.
Power is OFF.
Unit was turned off and then on too quickly.
TEMP Control set warmer than room temperature.

if...
FAN SPEED
set at LOW.

set too warm.
Temperature
sensing tube touching
evaporator coil,
located behind front grille.
Then...
Push plug firmly into wall outlet.
Replace fuse with time delay type or reset circuit breaker.
Push the power button.
Set unit off and wait 3 minutes before restarting.
Set TEMP Control to cooler.
ENOUGH.
Then...
Push MODE button
to set at COOL HI.
Set TEMP Control
to cooler setting.
Remove Front Grille, Then straighten tube away from
evaporator coil.
THE AIR CONDITIONER COOLING, BUT ROOM IS TOO WARM-ICE FORMING ON COOLING COIL BEHIND FRONT GRILLE.
Check
if...
Then...
Outdoor temperature
below 70°F (21°C).
To defrost the coil, set the MODE to FAN ONLY-HI.
Air filter may be dirty.
C lean air filter. Refer to Maintenance section of owner's manual.
TEMP
Control set too cold for night-time cooling.
To defrost the coil, set the MODE to FAN ONLY-HI.

Dirty air fitter- air restricted.
Clean air filter. Refer to Maintenance section of owner's manual.
TEMP Control set too warm.
Set TEMP Control to cooler setting.
Front of unit is blocked by drapes, blinds, furniture, etc.
Clear blockage in front of unit.
Air distribution is restricted.
Doors, windows, registers, etc. open. Cold air escapes.
Close doors, windows, registers, etc.
Unit recently turned on in hot room.
Allow additional t ime to removestoredheatfromwalis,ceiling,floor,and fumiture.
