When 2 scanner bars (12) on the LCD screen (3) start to climb this indicates you are
apporaching a metal object.
Continue scanning the surface.
Upon close proximity to a metal object, the bars will reach the top and then fall. When no
bars are displayed, keep the on/off switch depressed and reverse the movement to get
accurate results. 2 bars reaching the top indicate the location of a metal object (fig. D2).
After detecting the work area repeat the testing procedure to confirm the operation of the
unit.
Using the wire detector function (fig. D)
You can use this function to find live wires to 100 mm in depth. The function works
continuously in all modes.
Warning! Test the unit on a known AC current before use.
Hold the unit in the air away from the area being scanned and any other AC current
source.
Press the on/off switch (1).
The red LED indicator (4) will light up and the buzzer will sound once while the tool is
calibrating. After calibration is completed:
Keep the on/off switch depressed.
Move the tool slowly and smoothly across the surface, approaching from different
directions (fig. C).
When an AC source is located, the red LED indicator (4) will flash (fig. D1).
After detecting the AC source repeat the testing procedure to confirm the operation of
the unit and to localise the live wire more precisely.
Note: Static charge may interfere with detection on both sides of the wire, resulting in limited
accuracy.
Battery indicator (fig. B)
The LCD screen displays a battery symbol (6) that indicates the present condition of the battery.
