2x 4PD-JP006A Bilstein 2.65" Prerunner rear shock Jeep Wrangler JK 0-3"
2x Brake line relocator and front reservoir support
2x Front lower shock relocator
2x Rear upper shock relocator
1x mounting hardware
Follow these steps to install the front shocks (same for both sides):
1. Installation on the ground: Set handbrake, chock rear wheels and lift front axle off the ground. Secure
the frame with jackstands.
Installation on lift: Raise the vehicle.
2. Prepare working area by removing components that might be in the way like tires, inner fenders, etc.
3. Take off the stock shock and spring. Disconnecting the sway bar links and releasing the track bar from
its axle side is not mandatory but will greatly increase working space.
4. Loosen the bracket attaching the brake line and ABS wire to the frame and reattach it to the relocation
bracket.
5. Install the brake line relocation bracket to the frame using the provided screw. Img.5
6. Loosen the bracket holding the brake and ABS line to the axle.
7. Drill and tap an M10 hole in the front spring perch.
8. Install the bump stop extender. Img.8
9. Place the lower relocation bracket in its position and mark all holes to be drilled. Img.3 and 3.1
10. Drill all necessary holes and install the lower shock relocation bracket.
11. Reattach the brake and ABS line below the spring plate by modifying the stock bracket as needed (drill
appropriate hole). Img.4
12. Place new shock into its designated position and identify any interference issues.
13. After taking care of all interference issues install the shock following these steps.
14. Install the upper pin into the stock location with the reservoir facing aft in the direction of travel. The
order of the components will be as indicated in Img.2 Tighten the nut by hand only. On some vehicles
it might be easier to get the nut in place after trimming off some plastic bracing from the electrical
distribution box.
15. Next install the rod's cap end into the new relocator at the axle. Taking care of the correct order of the
spacer and high misalignment spacers. Img.7 Torque the lower shock bolt according to vehicle
manufacturer specification.
Installation on the ground: This step will be easier if the vehicle is held by the frame so that the axle
can be lowered to avoid having to compress the shock.
16. Attach the reservoir to the brake line relocation bracket using the provided rubber strap. Img.1
Observe that the reservoir is slightly crooked inwards to gain some space at the tire. This is by design
and not a mistake.
17. Reinstall the tires and all parts that were taken off for installation following manufacturer's
instructions.
18. Lower the vehicle onto the ground.
19. With the vehicle's weight resting on the axles and the suspension in its normal position tighten the
shock pin's nut until the bushing slightly compresses. Do not overtighten! If the bushing is noticeably
deformed back off a few turns.
20. Check that the shock is held in place correctly with its lateral movement limited so that it will not
interfere with any other components when the suspension cycles.
21. Last turn the steering to both ends and check that the tires clear the shocks. Depending on wheel, tire
and spacer combination an adjustment of the steering limiter might be necessary.
22. Recheck all hardware after 100kms.
