6.9 Calibrating pH-2004
The pH-2004 need the following standards for calibration: (See 1.2)

Calibrate in one or two points using one or two of this buffers.
Choose this two point by considering:
•
One point is always pH=6.85
•
If you are going to measure an acid solution choose pH=4.00
•
If you are going to measure an alkali solution choose pH=9.18
Calibrating pH-2004:
•
Clean the electrod e with water.
•
From the measuring screen, press «MODE/MEAS»
•
Press «
•
Immerse the electrode on the buffer solution pH=6.86 at 25ºC
•
Wait for stable pH reading.
Reading can be switched to mV by key "pH/mV".
•
Press «ENTER»
•
The display shows the recognized buffer value.
This value can not be changed.
After 5s. The unit jumps, automatically to STD2 screen.
•
Press «ENTER»
If calibration its only in 1 point, that's all, press «MODE/MEAS»
To continue for a two points calibration (strongly suggested) press
«ENTER» on «STD2» status.
•
Clean, rinse, the electrode with distilled water.
•
Immerse the electrode on the buffer solution pH=4.00 or 9.18 a 25ºC
•
Wait for stable pH reading.
Reading can be switched to mV by key "pH/mV".
•
Press «ENTER»
•
The display shows the recognized buffer value.
This value can not be changed.
After 5s. ..
•
The calculated SLOPE value is shown
This value can be used to evaluate the electrode state:
Slop e:
9 8 - 1 05 %
94 -9 7 %
9 0 - 9 3 %
Nota: Calibrate pH-2004 when:
•
First time use
•
Daily.
•
After change the electrod e
•
After measuring strong acids (pH<2)
•
After measuring strong alkalis (pH>12)
•
After measure very dense solutions that can obstruct the membrane.
