6.10 Isopotencial point selection

Select suitable isopotential point to measure pH value of pure water,
super pure water and boiler water.
Usually, isopotential point is set to 7.00pH to measure general water
solution.
To measure pure or supper pure water set 12.00pH
For ammonia water set 17.00pH.

6.11 Measuring temperature. Automatic compensation.

The pH-2004 includes ATC (Automatic temperature correction). This
means that the reading is corrected if the measuring temperature is
different from 25ºC.
The measuring temperature is the one the temperature probe reads or if
the temperature probe is NOT connected it is the temperature set by
the keypad .
Setting the measuring temperature by the keypad:
(Temperature probe NOT connected on the rear p anel socket)
• Press «MODE/MEAS» and select «MTC» using arrow keys.
• Validate with «ENT ER».
• Use keys «
• Validate with «ENTER» and press «MODE/MEAS» to return.
Note: If the measuring temperature set have a value far from the actual
sample temperature the pH reading could have considerable error.

6.12 Automatic switching Off

Sets the automatic disconnection after 2h of no operation.
• Press «ENTER».

6.13 Buffer solutions.

For a certified calibration, some standard buffers must be used, As the
ones described on 1.2.
Clean, rinse, with water, the electrode before to immerse into buffers.
• Buffer solutions are irritant chemicals. Avoid any contact with eyes and
use a lab coat to protect your wear.
• In case of chemicals be in contact with skin, clean, quickly, with abundant
w a te r.
• To prepare the buffer solutions just take a 300-400 ml flask, and solve
the pounder bag into 250ml of distilled water. Stirring until solved.
• Keep this solutions in a closed flask. Do not use this buffer for calibration
after 1 moth after preparation.

6.14 RS-232 Communication

Use the communication software to capture reading on the computer.
Connect the communication wire on a free RS-232 COM port on your
comp uter. (Sp eed 9600)
