Rare couple de créateurs à cette époque, Janine Abraham et Dirk Jan Rol, issus tous
deux de grandes écoles françaises d'Art et de Design, ont travaillé en symbiose toute leur
vie. Leur connivence esthétique et leur talent pour utiliser toutes sortes de matériaux leur
permettent de créer quelques meubles iconiques du 20ème siècle comme le fauteuil soleil ou
la banquette AR transformable. Ils sont aussi architectes et construisent de très belles villas
ouvertes sur la nature. Leur luminaire est rare mais emprunt d'un bel équilibre entre tradition et
modernité, sobriété et gout du détail soigné.

Janine Abraham and Dirk Jan Rol were famous designers of their time. They were both
from leading French schools of Art and Design and worked together almost all their lives. Their
aesthetic partnership, and their skills in using many different types of material, allowed them to
create iconic 20th century furniture, such as the Sun Chair and the convertible AR bench. They
were also architects and built beautiful houses that were in harmony with nature. Their lighting
is unique, demonstrating a perfect balance between tradition and modernity, classic style and
attention to the finest detail.

Janine Abraham und Dirk Jan Rol waren beide berühmte Designer ihrer Zeit, sie
kamen von führenden französischen Kunst- und Designschulen, und arbeiteten ihr Leben
lang zusammen. Ihre ästhetische Konnivenz und ihr Talent, Materialien aller Art zu verwenden,
haben es ihnen, ermöglicht, einige Möbel des 20. Jahrhunderts zu schaffen die bald zu Ikonen
wurden, wie den Sonnenstuhl oder die konvertierbare AR-Bank. Sie sind auch Architekten und
bauen wunderschöne Villen in Harmonie mit der Natur. Die von ihnen geschaffene Leuchte ist
einmalig und stellt eine gutes Gleichgewicht zwischen Tradition und Moderne, Klassizismus
und geschmackvoller Pflege der Details dar.

grandi scuole francesi di arte e di design, hanno lavorato in simbiosi per tutta la vita. La loro
connivenza estetica e il loro talento nell'utilizzare qualsiasi genere di materiale hanno consentito
loro di creare mobili iconici del XX secolo, ad esempio la poltrona Soleil o il divano a panchina

Su perfecta maestría como ebanista y su práctica artística le condujeron a la Escuela
de Artes Aplicadas, donde se graduó en 1937 para emprender una carrera fulgurante. Ha
participado en los grupos más influyentes, ha obtenido todos los premios y ha diseñado
numerosos muebles fundamentales expuestos actualmente en museos de todo el mundo.
Durante 25 años dará clases y formará a los mejores creadores de hoy en día. Su elegancia
depurada se une a una auténtica belleza con la mayor discreción.
