How to connect the Radio Gateway
The Radio Gateway does not require an additional pow-
er supply. A bus connector terminal is provided for con-
necting the Radio Gateway to the bus line.
Figure !
1 Push the bus connector terminal A onto the pins
B on the bottom of the Radio Gateway.
How to install the Radio Gateway
You can install the Radio Gateway in any size 60 instal-
lation box (flush-mounted box, hollow wall box, etc.).

Warning: There is a risk of damaging the Ra-
dio Gateway. If there are 230 V cables in the
vicinity of the installation, valid standards
and guidelines regarding wire spacing must
be adhered to. Never install a Radio Gateway

Danger from electric current: Any work on
the device should only be carried out by
qualified electricians. The country-specific
regulations as well as the relevant EIB guide-
lines must be followed.
Please also refer to the further safety notes included
in the instructions.

Here's what you can do with the
Radio Gateway.
With the Radio Gateway, you can send signals between
an EIB system and the Merten radio system. The trans-
mission works in both directions, i.e.
• from EIB sensors to radio receivers and
• from radio receivers to EIB actuators.

in a flush-mounted box which is equipped
with its own 230 V cables.

Note: Metal surfaces in close proximity to the
Radio Gateway may affect its transmitting and re-
ceiving characteristics. For this reason, avoid in-
stalling the Radio Gateway in a flush-mounted
box made of metal.

order to avoid radio signal interference caused by the
support ring.
2 Use the screws provided to attach the support ring
of the Radio Gateway to the flush-mounted box.

The Radio Gateway can be used to connect compo-
nents of the Merten radio system with the EIB. This
also includes the movement detectors ARGUS 220
Connect and ARGUS 220 Timer with integrated radio
module.
Radio transmitters/EIB sensors are allocated to radio re-
ceivers/EIB actuators using the ETS software. The appli-
cation and accompanying description can be found
online at www.merten.de.
