without filling it with water!
8. While using the appliance, you will see that the power
light indicator switches itself on and off. This is perfectly
normal and occurs when the appliance is adjusting the
optimum ironing temperature.
9. Unplug Steam-O-Power
when you finish using it.
®
WARNING: Always pull out the plug from the mains. Ne-
ver pull on the power cable to switch off the appliance.
Make sure that the power light indicator is off.
For best ironing results:
- Some garments should be ironed inside out.
- Trousers can be ironed more easily when held from
the bottom.
- When ironing, touch the fabric lightly with the iron and
move it in different directions to get rid of wrinkles. It is
important for the iron to touch the fabric of the garment.
- The iron will not remove stains from a garment.
- Steam-O-Power
can be used with almost any kind of
®
fabric, including silk, cotton, polyester and wool. Plea-
se read the garment's care label to check that it can be
steam ironed. Certain materials such as leather, suede
and velvet cannot be steam ironed.
- To ensure the garment can be steam ironed, test the
iron on a small part of the interior of the garment. If no
damage occurs, the entire garment can be ironed.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

1. When you have finished using Steam-O-Power
make sure that it is completely unplugged from the
mains before starting to clean it.
2. Allow the water in the appliance to cool for 15 minu-
tes. Then carefully remove the water-reservoir cap.
3. Turn the appliance upside down to empty out all the
water.
4. Clean the appliance and accessories only when they
have completely cooled. The cleaning brush is ideal for
removing any fluff from the accessories.
5. Store the appliance in a dry, safe place.
6. Use only clean water. Using filtered, mineral or disti-
lled water will prolong the appliance's life. Tap water can
also be used.
7. Never put detergent, chemicals, salt, perfume, dye
or any other liquid except water into the water reservoir.
Many of these substances are highly flammable and
may cause bodily harm, while certain additives can co-
rrode and clog the appliance's components. Nor should
you add essences to perfume the water.
Removing mineral deposits:
A common problem with steam irons is the accumula-
tion of mineral deposits in the tubes, normally when tap
water is used to fill the iron. To reduce or remove these
mineral deposits, use filtered, mineral or distilled water.
The following steps, if taken at least once a month, can
also reduce the level of mineral deposits if mineral or
distilled water cannot be used:
- Ensure the appliance is unplugged from the mains and
cool.
- Make a solution that is 50% vinegar and 50% water.
60 g is enough.
- Remove the water-reservoir cap and gradually pour
in the solution.
- Allow it to work for 40 minutes, adding more solution
,
when the water reservoir becomes empty.
®
- Pour the solution remaining in the water reservoir into
the sink or other container.
- Fill the water reservoir with water and then empty it
again. Repeat until the vinegar smell has gone.
