Troubleshooting

Problem
Power loss or sudden engine
cut-out
Engine will not start
Engine difficult to start
No current from the receptacles
Circuit breaker switches off
during operation

Possible Cause
Fuel tank empty
Water in the fuel
Air filter clogged
Engine Switch (8) switched off
Fuel Shut-Off Valve (11) closed
Fuel lines clogged
Fuel tank empty
Spark Plug (15) defective or wrongly gapped
Electrical appliances are connected to the receptacles
Air filter dirty or clogged
Fuel contaminated or impurities in fuel system
Vent inside the Fuel Cap (6) clogged
Deposits on the Spark Plug electrodes
Incorrect use of Choke Lever (9)
Carburettor or choke mechanism damaged
Circuit Breaker switched off
Appliance faulty
Generating set or plug sockets defective
Combined rating of connected appliances exceed power rating of
the generating set
Single connected appliance exceeds power rating of the generating
set
Electrical fault of connected appliance
Circuit breaker defective
Generating set defective
Combined rating of connected appliances exceed power rating of
the generating set
Connected appliances rapidly alter their power consumption
Carburettor defective
Generating set defective
Combined rating of connected appliances exceed power rating of
the generating set
Ventilation insufficient
If the above troubleshooting solutions fail, contact your dealer or an authorised GMC service centre
Refill fuel tank
Drain the fuel system and flush with petrol
Clean air filter or replace if necessary
Switch on Engine Switch
Open the Fuel Shut-Off Valve
Clean fuel lines and flush with new 2-stroke mix
Refill fuel tank
Refer to 'Maintaining the spark plug' and replace Spark Plug if necessary
Unplug all appliances when starting the generator
Refer to 'Maintaining the air filter'
Refer to 'Draining the fuel tank' and 'Draining the carburettor'
Clean Fuel Cap
Refer to 'Maintaining the spark plug'
Use Choke Lever only if engine is cold
Contact your authorised GMC service centre to arrange repair
Press Circuit Breaker Reset Button (4)
Have appliance repaired by an authorised technician
Contact your authorised GMC service centre to arrange repair
Disconnect appliances or reduce power consumption, then reset circuit breaker by
pressing Circuit Breaker Reset Button (4)
Appliance can't be powered by this generator
Disconnect appliance and have appliance repaired by an authorised technician
Contact your authorised GMC service centre to arrange repair
Contact your authorised GMC service centre to arrange repair
Disconnect appliances or reduce power consumption
Appliance may not be compatible with this generator
Contact your authorised GMC service centre to arrange repair
