3.3.2 - DISINFECTING THE MOUTHPIECE
After washing, the mouthpiece can be immersed in a cold disinfectant solution (e.g. a solution containing up to 2% sodium hypochlorite).
Follow the manufacturer's instructions.
3.3.3 - STERILISING THE MOUTHPIECE
The mouthpiece can be sterilised in an autoclave at 121°C for at least 15 minutes (but no more than 30 minutes), for up to 20 times.
3.4 - CLEANING, DISINFECTING AND STERILIZING THE TUBE
The tube (15) needs to be cleaned after each session. Detach it from the nebuliser and leave the apparatus on until all signs of moisture
have been eliminated. If the tube is particularly dirty, it needs to be replaced.
The tube (15) must not be sterilized hot in an autoclave or boiled.
4 - MAINTENANCE
The SOFFIO PLUS aerosol therapy device does not require any particular maintenance. The compressor does not need to be lubricated
as the piston is the dry-operating type.
A special external filter keeps out dust and impurities, and should be replaced periodically.
Always unplug from the mains before carrying out the following operations.
4.1 - REPLACING THE FUSE (Fig. E)
If the apparatus does not work even when plugged in, it may be necessary to change the fuse.
Unplug the apparatus.
Use a small screwdriver (not included) to remove the fuse holder above the power socket on the apparatus.
Remove the fuse and replace it with a new one having the same features (see Section 6).
Insert the fuse holder in the slot. Plug in and check to see if it switches on.
4.2 - REPLACING THE AIR FILTER (Fig. F)
The air filter needs to be replaced once a year if the device is used frequently.
The air filter (6) is located underneath the appliance. Remove the cap using a screwdriver and change the air filter.
The filter cannot be washed or regenerated. It must always be replaced with a new one.
4.3 - MAINTENANCE OF THE ACCESSORIES
When cleaning, disinfecting or sterilising the components, you can check them visually and determine when they need to be replaced.
Repeated sterilisation may affect the materials of which the accessories are made, so the components should be inspected regularly. The
accessories must be replaced when there are clear signs of deterioration.
