Congratulations to your new PLAYLIFE roller skates.We are sure that you will have lots of fun with
these roller skates! Certainly you will enjoy skating thePLAYLIFE roller skates for a long time. Safety
and comfort have most priority on the PLAYLIFE roller skates. Please read the manual carefullybefore
you start to skate and keep the manual with you in case you have questions or problems.

These skates have been tested in line with the European standard EN 13899:2003.
ATTENTION!
• Powerslide recommends wearing full, safety-tested protective gear in order to minimise your

Furthermore, you should wear reflective clothing and equipment.
• Please understand that no protective gear can fully protect you in every situation. Skating is an
inherently dangerous activity which can result in serious injuries or even death. You, the roller
skater, are the only who can reduce these risks by always wearing full protective gear and, more
importantly, maintaining control every time.For safer skating read the following safety instructions:
• No modifications on your roller skates shall be made that can impair safety
• Skating on streets and cycle paths is not permitted according to the road traffic act.
Your city may, however, have their own specific legislation to determine where skating is permitted
and where it is not. Follow the regulations.
Avoid paths and roads used by other road users. We recommend using skate parks instead.
• Always skate with attention to others. Watch your speed while skating and skate to your abilities.
• Always skate on the right side and overtake on the left side. When you want to turn, indicate with
your hand for others to see.
• Be careful around children, dogs, bikes and other skaters and skate with foresight and anticipation
of other people's mistakes.
• The traffic laws also apply to roller skaters. It is not permitted to have yourself be pulled along by
cars, buses or other motorised or non-motorised vehicles.
• Avoid skating on sandy, wet or oily ground as this could cause an accident. In addition, sand,
water and dirt can damage the bearings.
• Self-locking screws and nuts can gradually loosen when the roller skates are being used. Check
these regularly to make sure they are still firmly in place and if necessary tighten them. Take
particular note of the screws attaching the frame to the shoe as well as the axles that attach the
wheels to the frame.
• Sharp edges that can form while using the roller skates should be removed in order to avoid injury.
Before starting
Before putting on your roller skates you should check your protective gear and roller skates
carefully:
• Wiggle each wheel to check axle tightness and bearings.
• Check your wheels, especially when you just replaced them.
• Check if the buckle of the adjustable mechanism of the skates is closed securely.
• Put on your protective gear such as helmet, wristguards, knee and elbowpads.
• Check if the steering mechanism of your roller skates is correctly adjusted and all connective parts
are firmly secured.
MAINTAIN YOUR ROLLER SKATES
In order to keep your roller skates in good condition you should check them regularly.
ROTATION OF WHEELS
Wheels wear off differently and only on one side (inner side). To have more fun during skating the
positions of the wheels should be rotated from time to time. When wheels have worn off you should
replace them with new wheels. In most cases bearings and spacers are still in goodcondition and
can be used for replacement wheels as well. Just press bearings and spacers off the wheels with a
