Installation
• The photocells are configured by default to operate with
a power supply voltage of 24 V ac/dc.
To change the power supply of 12 V ac/dc, short circuit
the two terminal zones C on the back of the printed
circuit board with a spot of solder, as shown in fig. 3.
• The maximum range is set in the factory to 10 m.
To increase the range to 15 m, cut the copper jumper
connector E on the back of the receiver RX as shown in
fig. 3.
• To prevent malfunctions caused by interference and
reflections, is insufficient to install the photocells as
shown in fig. 4, but we suggest to use synchronised
photocells.
• Synchronisation. Synchronisation makes it possible to
install two pairs of ROGER TECHNOLOGY photocells in
close proximity without the risk of interference.
To enable synchronisation, remove the jumpers P1 from
the TX photocells and connect the power feed from the
electronic controller to the 0V and 24V terminals with
crossed wires, as shown in fig. 2.
NOTE: Synchronisation is not available for photocells
configured for 12-24 V direct current power.
1. Fasten the TRIX pillars as indicated in the installation
manual.
2. Calculate the cable length necessary in relation to the
height of the TRIX pillar and the number of photocells
in the installation (see fig. 5).
3. The photocells may be installed in one of the three
channels on the TRIX pillar (see fig. 6 and 8).
4. With the system disconnected from mains electricity,
make the electrical connections as shown in fig. 1 and
2: connect power to the photocells, observing the
correct polarity indicated, and connect the terminals
C-NC to the terminals COM-FT respectively on the
electronic controller.
NOTA: if synchronisation is enabled, the power cables
must be crossed, see fig. 2.
5. Close the photocell housings and fasten with the screws
included B, as shown in fig. 7.
6. Fit the collar A.
7. Route the cables in the specific channels (fig. 8).
8. Fit the screws on the collar (part G-H, fig. 9), without
tightening.
9. Set the RX receiver and the TX transmitter at the
required height, aligning the two devices optically.
10. The red LED L on the RX receiver indicates signal
strength and that the TX and RX devices are correctly
aligned. The brighter the LED, the stronger the signal
received and the more precisely the devices are aligned.
11. Fasten the collar to the pillar with the self-tapping
screw (part I fig. 9).
12. Adjust the orientation of the light beam with the
adjuster screw M, as shown in fig. 10.
13. Fasten the photocell definitively with the screw N.
14. Close the TRIX pillar as shown in fig. 11.

Initial testing
1. Switch the controller unit on. The PW LED illuminates.
2. Interrupt the light beam between the photocells with a
50 mm diameter cylindrical object. The automatic door
or gate must stop or reverse direction. The red LED L
extinguishes.
3. Stand near the TX photocell and interrupt the light
beam.
4. Repeat the procedure for the RX photocell and for any
other pairs of photocells installed.
8
Maintenance
Perform scheduled maintenance every 6 months.
Check that the photocells are clean and are working
correctly. In particular, keep the outer surfaces of the RX
receiver and the TX transmitter clean.
If any dirt, moisture, insects or other obstructions are
found, clean the photocell and repeat the initial testing
procedure.
If any corrosion is found on the printed circuit board,
evaluate if it is necessary to replace the board itself.
