II. PARTICULAR REGULATIONS
1
Object of approval and area of application
(1) This General Construction Inspection Approval relates to fixed,
rectangular type „PE collection tray 25012" containment devices
made of injection moulded polyethylene (PE HD) in accordance with
annex 1.
(2) The containment devices are provided with profiled flat bottoms
and profiled walls and can be equipped with hot-dipped galvanised
steel gratings, which serve as a bearing surface for containers and/
or vessels (referred to as containers in the following). The contain-
ers can also be placed directly in the containment device.
(3) The installation type of the „PE collection tray 250/2", the collec-
tion volume and the main dimensions are:

(4) The containment devices may be positioned in building spaces
or outdoors, but not in zone 0 and 1 areas with a risk of explosion.
They must be protected against impact by vehicles, for example by
a protected installation or use of a collision guard.
(5) If the containment devices are installed outdoors, then the instal-
lation location has to have a roof over it. The containment devices
are to be installed so as to be sufficiently protected against precipita-
tion, direct UV rays and storms.
(6) The containment devices can be used for storing in containers of
water-polluting liquids with flash points greater than 100 °C.
(7) Liquids contained in list 40-1.1 of the German Institute for Struc-
tural Engineering
with a reduction factor A
1
can be assigned to the following named groups, require no special
proof of the leak-tightness and durability of the PE material of the
containment device:
- aqueous organic acid solutions up to 10 %,
- Mineral acids up to 20 % as well as acidic hydrolytic salts in aque-
ous solution (pH < 6), except for hydrofluoric acid and oxidising
acids and their salts,
- inorganic bases as well as alkaline hydrolytic salts in aqueous
solutions (pH > 8), with the exception of ammonia solutions and
oxidising salt solutions (e.g. hypochlorite).
– Solutions of inorganic non-oxidising salts with a pH value between
6 and 8.

governed by the Hazardous Materials Act, TRGS 514
to be observed.
(9) For containment devices with a grating, only a grating with the
same load bearing capacity and dimensions can be used for re-
placement.
(10) This general Construction Inspection Approval satisfies the ob-
ligation to obtain a suitability determination for water regulations
and the qualification approval under § 19 h of the Water Resources
Act
.

(11) The period of validity of this General Construction Inspection
Approval (see page 1) refers to use pertaining to insertion or instal-
lation of the object of approval and not to subsequent use.

Construction product stipulations
2.1
Properties and constituents
2.1.1 Materials
of
Only the moulding compounds in the materials list (see attachment
2, section 1) for this General Construction Inspection Approval can
be used as moulding compounds for the containment devices. The
materials listed in attachment 2, section 2 are to be used for acces-
sory parts.
2.1.2 Construction details
1
Construction details have to adhere to attachments 1 and 1.1 to 1.10.
2.1.3 Stability
The containment devices are stable for the area of application
specified in section 1 at operating temperatures up to 30 °C.
2.1.4 Fire behaviour
The material polyethylene PE HD is, in the thicknesses occurring in the
application, normally inflammable (class B2 according to DIN 4102
2.1.5 Safety of use
Changes to the detailed construction and materials require a
change to this General Construction Inspection Approval.
2.2
Manufacture, packaging, transport, storage and labelling
2.2.1 Manufacture
(1) Manufacture must be in accordance with the manufacturer's
description filed with the DIBt.
(2) In addition to the manufacturing description, the requirements
of Annex 3, Sec. 1 must be followed.
(3) The containers may only be manufactured in factory 4
Chemowerk GmbH.
2.2.2 Packaging, transport and storage
Packaging, transport, and storage must conform to Annex 3,
Sec.2.
