8.3 Automatic operation with float
The automatic operation of the pump is ensured by the loat connected to the electric panel.
The loat connected to the appropriate control panel must have su cient space to be able to lift freely. In the
delivery piping, the installation of a ball valve is recommended, to prevent backlow.
Dreno Pompe only authorises the use of loats approved by itself, as per the references shown in the current
catalogue and price list. Dreno Pompe shall reject all responsibility in case of use of loats other than those
indicated in its catalogue. When using other types of loats, the installer should contact the technical o ce of
Dreno Pompe for the required authorisation.
Otherwise, Dreno Pompe shall not be held responsible for faulty operation. To ensure correct installation refer
to the technical data sheet of the product, which is supplied by Dreno Pompe separately.
If ATEX, the loat must be interfaced with a barrier consisting of an ATEX intrinsic safety active electric
construction.
The installation must only be carried out by specialist personnel, or personnel qualiied by Dr eno Pompe.

All the electric connections must be completed by specialised electricians, possibly by personnel qualiied
by DRENO POMPE.
The power network frequency and voltage must comply with the requirements shown on the pump plate.
To access the connection area, unscrew the cable gland screwed in the motor casing. However, this opera-
tion must only be carried out by personnel qualiied by DRENO POMPE. In case of ATEX pump, it will cause
the loss of the ATEX characteristics.
• For the external electric connections, the personnel in charge can use the diagrams that follow.
• In three-phase motors, check the direction of rotation of the impeller (see the direction of rotation section).
• In case of doubts on the causes of the faulty operation of the pump, disconnect the power supply and
contact DRENO POMPE qualiied personnel.
• If the power supply cable is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its technical support service,
or by qualiied personnel, in order to avoid any risks.
All the electric connections must be protected by humidity, and all joints must be fully resistant to penetration
in case of immersion, and guarantee the IP68 characteristics of the pump itself.
