5.2.3. Adhesive application
To do this, simply place the filled Bona OptiSpread UX on the nozzle head, press the on
switch and walk back while doing so. (fig 4)

The amount of adhesive applied depends largely on your walking speed, the nozzle size and
the feed rate, which is continuously adjustable from 1-9.

Notes:
The first time you squeeze out of a new nozzle, it takes a moment for the
adhesive to come out of the holes.
If the power switch is released, the adhesive application is stopped immediately. The piston
is moved back minimally (audible). This enables precise and dosed adhesive application.
Tubular bag
If possible, an attempt should be made to empty the adhesive bag completely. If this is not
possible, the opened bag can remain in the machine for up to 12 hours. The machine must
be stored horizontally.
In case of longer interruptions of work, the opened bag should be taken out and closed with
a cable tie. The bag sealed in this way can then be used again when needed.
Depending on the age of the film bags, gas pressure can build up inside, causing the film
to inflate. This may make insertion difficult. It is advisable to prick the foil near the clip with
a needle. This allows the excess pressure to escape. This, however, has no effect on the
corresponding adhesive.
Nozzle
In case of longer work interruptions (up to 12 hours), adhesive that has leaked out at
the nozzle tooth will harden. Here we recommend removing excess adhesive with Bona
Cleaning Wipes and covering the exit openings with tape.
In case of longer interruptions, clean the nozzle or replace it with a new one if necessary.
Hardened adhesive should not be forced out by squeezing the following adhesives. This can
lead to damage to the drive or heavy soiling.
