However, it is possible to use the nozzle several times after thorough cleaning.
Cleaning should be done as follows:
• First dismantle the nozzle as described under point 5.2.4.
• Remove the side caps (fig. 5) of the nozzle and remove unhardened, fresh adhesive. This
is done very easily with the help of a round rod or rag that is pulled through the tube.
• Then clean the inside with several Bona Cleaning Wipes cloths by pulling them through
the nozzle.
• Adhesive residues in the teeth are easiest to remove when they have hardened. Take care
not to damage the tooth mould unnecessarily with pointed and sharp objects to ensure a
permanently even adhesive discharge.
• The adhesive outlet on the nozzle shoe should also be cleaned with Bona Cleaning Wipes.

7. Storage and transport
7.1. Proper storage
Always store the unit lying down in its original packaging.
The nozzle of the Bona OptiSpread UX can remain on the machine during a longer work
interruption of up to 12 hours. Adhesive film bags that are not completely empty can also
remain in the machine. To do this, clean the outside of the nozzle with Bona Cleaning Wipes.
Especially the area of the adhesive outlet should be cleaned thoroughly. Afterwards, the
teeth must be covered with adhesive tape or the entire nozzle must be sealed airtight.
The machine can thus be stored or transported lying down for up to 24 hours without the
risk of drying out.

Operating manual
In case of longer storage (> 24 h), the nozzle must be removed from the pipe. Any remaining
foil bag must be squeezed out or removed beforehand. The adhesive nozzle itself is
designed as a disposable nozzle and can be disposed of at the end of the construction site.
However, if necessary, the nozzle can also be used several times.
Avoid permanent storage in humid or dusty places.
If the machine has been stored permanently or overnight at below +10°C, the machine must
first be acclimatised to room climate (from +15°C) to ensure safe functioning of the piston.
7.2. Transport
Always transport Bona OptiSpread UX in the original packaging provided.
During transport, make sure that the machine is not damaged and secure it sufficiently to
avoid transport damage.
8. Defect detection
When the Bona OptiSpread UX is operated and used properly and in accordance with the
instructions and notes in this instruction manual, no malfunctions are to be expected.
However, should malfunctions occur unexpectedly, you should investigate possible sources
of defects:
Battery
Is the battery fully charged? Partially charged batteries can lead to automatic shutdown
of the feed due to incorrect detection of a malfunction. Therefore, always fully charge the
battery! This also prevents a memory effect.
Toothed rack
Is this bent or damaged?
Therefore, never place the unit on the boom.
Adhesive residue
Are there hardened adhesive residues in the machine/nozzle? If so, remove them or change
the nozzle. Pay particular attention to the notes under chapter 5 and 6.
