OPERATING MODES

The DMX-83 controller can be operated in manual, automatic or sound-activated mode. To select one of
the modes, follow the instructions below

MANUAL

MANUAL MODE

Check that you are in manual mode, i.e. no active mode is indicated on the display.
Select the scanner you would like to use and modify the channels using the scrolling controls on each
scanner. If the device has more than 8 channels, press the PAGE A/B button to program the value of channels
9 to 16.
You can select the display mode for the value of each channel. Using the DISPLAY/TAPSYNC button the
scale of the scrolling controls can be adjusted between 0-255 or 0-100.
Note: all changes made in manual mode are instantaneous and will not be stored in the controller's memory.
PLAYING A SINGLE SCENE
- Select the bank where the scene is stored using the BANK UP and BANK DOWN buttons.
- Press the SCENES 1 to 8 button to activate playback of the selected scene
- If needed, modify the scroll controls for each channel. Note that the previous scene configuration will not
be affected.
PLAY A CHASE
- Go to the sub-section REVIEW A CHASE in the PROGRAMMING MODE block.

AUTOMATIC MODE

Within this mode you can choose between scene, bank or chase playback. To do this, you must have already
programmed a scene or chase. If you haven't done so, go to the PROGRAMMING block.
To turn the auto mode on or off, press the AUTO/DEL button and the AUTO indicator on the display will light
up.
PLAYING A SINGLE SCENE
- Within auto mode, select the bank where the scene is stored using the BANK UP and BANK DOWN buttons.
- Press the SCENES 1 to 8 button to activate playback of the selected scene.
- If needed, modify the scroll controls for each channel. Note that the previous scene configuration will not
be affected.
